I will still probably pick the Bionic up, regardless of any changes in specs that most of us don't like. However, if more news of the HTC Vigor comes out, I may hold off for that phone.
No it doesn't -- someone screwed up there. Of course, calling it a 240dpi display when you're providing 33% fewer subpixels (due to Pentile) is also dubious, but that's for another thread.
Completely underwhelming specs. The 4g is the only part of this phone that is worth considering at this point (who knows if S2, Vigor or that new LG phone will be LTE). To be honest if the the LTE chip wastes as much battery life as the Thunderbolt then I will pass on this. I'd rather have a 3g with better specs, mainly the screen, then waste my time with a battery hog.
hmm.. heres to hoping that SGSII has 4g, if not then ill probably wait till something else drops in september. if not, then i might actually get Bionic.
So many delays, and 1ghz doesnt cut it. Also, all of these delays were enough for a better screen.
The old CES Bionic/Etna was Tegra2 based. But was scrapped because the Tegra2 chip did not play nice with LTE. The new Bionic/Targa has Omap4 chip is a better and faster chip.

But Nvidia refuted that thought and claimed Tegra2 has no problem with coupling to LTE chip. And Samsung proved it in tab 10.1 LTE. OMAP4 is good chip, but not significantly faster than Tegra2 according to benchmarks. Both is from 45nm process and based on Cortex A9 architecture. It just came out a few months later than Tegra2.
Really LTE is the only major spec in Bionic and others look a little behind the time. It won't win Samsung, HTC in screen, camera department. Its battery should last more than Charge for it to succeed.

I couldn't agree more. Whether the processor is Tegra 2 or OMAP, or 1 GHZ or 1.2, none of that really matters a ton to me. What really matters (to me) is screen size, screen quality, camera, 4G, lack of user interface lag, and battery life.
The qHD PenTile screen (with pixelation), no 4.5" size, MotoBlur (they don't call it that anymore, but that's what it is), and crappy camera (if it's the same as the Photon) doesn't sit well with me.
The specs floating around that appeared on Moto's website don't mention battery size or life, so that's a toss up.
Look, I know that there will ALWAYS be a better and faster phone. But I'm just afraid that I buy this and then kick myself 6 weeks later when something like a Nexus Prime or SGS2 with 4G comes out. I think I'll probably give it 2 or 3 weeks after release to watch what you all are saying on this forum and the reviews, and then decide. I definitely won't be getting it on day 1.
