Second refurb, 4th TB. The first one I had (Brand new - bought on launch day) started to become almost too hot to hold and had issues with data downloads within the first 14 days. I swapped it for another and that worked fine until the first OTA update - the constant rebooting made it unusable. Then got a refurb. and that worked great until last week when, for some reason Verizon tech support couldn't figure out, it stopped sending or receiving data over 3G/ 4G LTE. It would still make and receive phone calls and WiFi worked, but otherwise it was DOA. So, got my 2nd refurb Saturday morning and so far it's worked fine. (Crossing fingers and toes)

I really do like the Thunderbolt, but if this one goes out I'm going to raise hell with Verizon and probably talk them into switching me to a Droid Charge. :(

I ordered mine online on launch day and received it the following Monday. About 8 days later, I had to exchange it because the screen/glass was lifting up. I received a brand new one since I was w/in my 14 days and have had that one since. I've had no issues with the second phone. Love my TB!

I'm on my 4th one. The first one had problems with the power button sticking and it was recessed into the case. The second and third had messed up audio jacks and the 4th (current one) has reboots (even on the new GB radios, all of them had reboots on froyo radios) as well as a messed up audio jack (its not completely broken like my 2nd and 3rd t bolt) I have given up, they will replace it with another phone but theres not one I would currently swap for. I think I'm going to deal with the problems until the bionic is released and rooted and try and swap out for that phone.

I don't know which one I'd be classified under. I bought my original one on launch day, but the Verizon store swapped that one for a different new one 1 week later because they said mine was flagged for having mismatching IMEI numbers....and then I'm due for a refurb if they can get me one that's built correctly....sigh.

Congrats Frisco on mod status, nice work. I had a problem with my top button sort of recessed and got a refurb about a month ago. The refurb had a yellowish tint to the screen and I returned it for another. Second one, and I insisted on a new replacement, had the same yellow tint on boot up. I sent that one back, got a razor and cut away some plastic, and now I still have my trusty original.

What did you cut? The plastic casing?

I've noticed all the refurbs have the power button recessed. I actually remember my first 2 originals having a nice "firm and extended" power button. I guess a flaccid power button is a sign of old age... :(

Do you mean headphone jack. I notice my Thunderbolt has minor problems in that are. If you turn the headphone cord a little you hear a little distortion. My co-worker has the My touch 4g and his headphone jack is jacked up. Besides batteries that can help power devices for extensive times it may be that HTC also produce or buy into bad headphone jacks. I must say it seems the Evo 3D battery is okay. My Team Leader has one and he showed it going into 2days unplugged. Red light was beginning to flash but it is better than I can do with the Mighty Thunderbolt by @ least 1 day.

Yes. It was actually a little, sharp knife and I cut away just a little bit under the power button. (you need to have the case off) It seems like it was just getting stuck once in a while and after I did that it popped up. No problem since, but I do keep an eye on it. If it gets a little schmutzig by the button I'll just clean it up.

I'm on my second. Got the 1st on July 4, it couldn't save attachments received from text messages. Called Verizon, it was determined I didn't have whatever it was that allowed me to do this, took phone back and got it replaced (with a new one) a couple of days later. New phone still has same problem (didn't entirely believe CS rep, so compared phones with a friend - which proved CS was right) I got tired of worrying about it and just stuck with it. Don't need to download text message attachments that often anyway (and have other phone options if I ever do).

Can you still not? That seems like a software issue it seems like when you got the MR2 update it would have resolved that. Or could it be something VZW has flagged on your account causing the problem? (Sorry for pestering I just haven't heard of this specific issue before so you got my attention ;))
