Hi I am not a Noob have rooted with my Ally and done many trick things with it.
I am now trying to root for a friend for her Fascinate. The root guide in the Sticky says Obsolete so I was just wondering what the easiest way would be. I like the SOC method if I could get it to work.
Heres what I have tried and what I have run into. 1st I tried using a generic cable to plug into the computer. It charges but will not connect to the computer.
I then installed some drivers I found for it.... Not sure if their the right ones. Ok Now heres where it gets really weird. If I pull up real hard on the cable it shows on the phone the USB symbol as well as the Debugging symbol. So I thot cool All I gotta do is hold it like this while I use Super One Click. Well The computer does not see the phone even though the phone has the usb and Debugging symbols. I then tried to mount the phone. Well I mounted it and the Android turns orange and it acts like it is connected. However I can not find the SD card on the computer. I have Never had that trouble before with my Ally. So I of course tried to use Super one Click while it was like that. It hung at waiting for device.
So I guess I was wanting to know what are the correct drivers.
What is the easiest way to get this done? What am I doing wrong?
