You can either wipe it or not. Unless you're giving the phone to somebody else, there is no need to do that.

So now that the Gingerbread Update talk is so last week. When do we all think the Incredible will get upgraded to ICS?

I asked this earlier but don't think the reply was what I was looking for. Now that an upgrade appears to be a reality, I'll try again...

My DINC is not on a Verizon data plan since I use a prepaid service for the phone. How do I go about upgrading via WiFi? A second question...what is the best way to back-up app data if I'm not rooted? Many thanks.

Don't quote me on this but, I "think" you'll be able to click on "check for updates" once your phone has been flagged for the update. If your on WiFI at the time it should just download at that time...

If you aren't rooted, then just copy/paste the 8g internal memory. Non-rooted phones can't back-up app data, but you can get apps to back up call logs and sms. For most, all the other stuff is already on the Google account, the Microsoft Exchange, or Verizon's contact backup. Just find out which apps that you have can do their own backup/restore. Does anyone know otherwise?
