Root New Official Gingerbread 4.5.602 for Droid X

Doesn't work for me. Flashed Froyo, rooted, bootstraped, installed AIO .602, stuck on red M logo. Battery pulls, etc. do nothing. Any help?

You have to go to mounts in CWR and format System, Data & Cache, then mount System and install the zip.

Going to have SBF again. Before flashing .602 go into mounts and format system then go ahead and mount system and then flash .602. That should do it.

Even after the radio update, my 3G randomly drops to 1x for no reason. It happens while I'm not in motion and when my 3G has full bars. I was hoping the upgraded radio would have fixed it.

Also, I'm on stock GB, no root at the moment.

Has anyone gotten the imoseyon tweaks to work with this? I flashed 7.1 last night and it was a no go when I ran the checktweak.sh in the Terminal.

That's the million dollar question I haven't been able to find a straight answer for. I don't use twitter but if someone that does can ask P3 that would be great.

there is no way Moto would have two separate builds with the same build number..it just doesn't work that way in the software field...

Can't get into recovery after being powered off. Power and Home key just keep the red M cycling?!

Only way to fix is another SBF.

OK, finally got it to work. After downloading 4.5.602 from the TBH app do the following.

1. SBF to Froyo .340.
2. Once up and running install Z4root and reboot BEFORE you open Z4Root (rebooting before you open is a must or Z4 will NOT work)
3. After reboot make sure usb debugging is on, then open Z4Root and select permanent root. Let Z4 do its thing and when done your Droid X will automatically reboot.
4. Once booted back up install Droid 2 bootstrap. Open bootstrap and boot into recovery.
5. Once in recovery go to mounts.
6. Once in mounts format system, format data, format cache in that order.
7. After completing #6 while still in mounts next mount system.
8. Go back and choose install zip from SD card.
9. Scroll to where ever you have 4.5.602 and select it.
10. Once complete just reboot and set up your Droid X and you should be good to go.

10 steps above worked like magic. I did get stuck on boot loop after sbf but battery pull and factory reset from recovery fixed it, not to set up.

I saw a post where I guy claimed he was rooted (but not deodexed) and took the update and didn't lose root.

Eh? How? I could've swore if you have root you won't be able to install the update, let alone be notified of it.

Was it perhaps the post I remember responding to (I haven't checked as to what their response was) in which he had superuser but could still take the OTA? Cause, as we know, having superuser doesn't necessarily mean one has root.

I'm rooted and pulled the update but wasn't notified and tried to update but it failed!

So the only way to get the leak is through the TBH app? Its the $2.99 app rite?

After getting .602 up and running ..can I simply restore system data and apps/data through titanium? (Coming from rooted. 596)

You can do a advanced restore of just data from recovery, assuming you made nandroid backup of 596 before sbfing.

if you're simply rooted and have changed nothing else then you should be able to download and install the update just fine...you will however lose root

So I read all this and now I need some advil.

Im sbf'ed to stock froyo UNROOTED

Can't I just go to about phone and look for the update and wont my phone find it and install?? And would I be getting the gingerbread version that's updated??? Or am I wrong???

damn..the one time i dont make a nandroid, i suck..

will titanium still do the trick or no?

After installing when I turn my phone on it boots to Droid 2 bootstraper then I have to boot from there. Anyone know?

Edit: I rebooted to recovery and rebooted, all is well. It sure is a lot faster and smoother than .596, well worth the upgrade IMO.

Is the update worth the hassle? I've flashed the updated radio, but don't know if it's worth the time right now to apply the full update.
