Hope this is ok to ask here...figured I would while waiting for the OTA. Anyone else has issuses with the new market? Mine only shows 2 downloaded apps...YouTube and Google Maps....I have many more on my phone. From what I read online I'm not the only one with the issuse and when I contacted Google support they said I'm definately not the only one with the issue...LOL.

EVO 4G users will tell you. If you want root do it before update hits you. Just yesterday they got root back.

Right now there are roms with gingerbread better then the ota will be.

They are pushing to 10k phones but how many are here and how many here are rooted and won't update?

I wish they world hurry and get root back to the inc 2 ... I miss it so much

would I be able to install the update if I am rooted but not running any roms?

you need the stock recovery on your phone for the OTA to install properly. You can remain rooted but flash the stock recovery then accept the ota if you want (this will cause you to lose root and will take quite a few steps to get root back).....*BUT* it is best/easiest to just install the rooted version of the OTA, it will most likely be available before the ota attempts to be pushed to your phone.

For rooted phones, if you use a rom though, instead of the OTA update, will it wipe everything from the phone and cause you to have to reinstall all of your apps?

no...

but the best way to install the official OTA or the ROM OTA is to do a factory reset (after the install for official ota, and before flashing for rom install). A factory reset results in far fewer glitches. However, it is not 100% guaranteed necessary. Sticking with the rooted version allows the use of titanium backup after the factory reset, with the official OTA install, you will need to manually install all your apps again.

Believe me, it is best to stay rooted, you have many more options if you encounter problems with the OTA.

I have the 2.2 RUU on my computer, i wont lose root as bad as most.

once you accept the official ota, you may not be able to downgrade to 2.2 anymore. I wouldn't count on that helping you regain root. As long as you stay s-off, you should be fine though.

ps the 2.2 ruu is available for everyone online, but is a good thing to have on your computer for emergencies. I'd download the 2.3 RUU when it becomes available also.

While I don't have the issue go to menu - settings from home screen and applications. Manage apps and clear cache and data for market. Should reset app list.
