Help Home screen weather widget Galaxy S2

Are you sure it exists? I keep seeing pics of the GS2 with a 4x1 blue weather widget but I don't have it on my phone, I assumed it was just a mock-up. The weather widgets that I have are an AccuWeather one that's 2x1 and the News & Weather one, which lets you pick either news or weather when you add it. That one's rubbish though :(

I'm sure, I had it from beginning and stupidly, I deleted it from my home screen to bring it back on another screen and since than I can't find it. I tried News and Weather but it's completely different style. I don't know what to think about it. BTW, I bough it in Poland this month, maybe european models are a bit different.

I deleted by mistake weather widget from my home screen, trying to get it back, but there is no such widget in library. Anyone else had this same problem? Will appreciate your feedback.

It is very easy: press the left key down (next to your home key) then go "add", then "widgets" then "Accuweather" that's how mine is called. After adding it on ur screen Then you can resize it by long hold on top of it (may be 5seconds until you see the yellow lines which show you how big or small u can make it.

I think if you move it to the trash can a certain way, it will actually un-install the app.

I'm facing the same problem. Now I have the 2 x1 weather widget instead of the 4x1 widget that my SGS II had when I received it. I deleted it by mistake, now I'm unable to restore it.

Got it!!. Now my 4 x 1 accuweather widget is back. The resizing trick worked. I put the tiny 2 x 1 accuweather on a blank home screen and then tap it for a moment (hold till exact the moment we got the vibration). Now u see the yellow grid and you drag the widget corner with an indicator to the required size. You can resize it up to the size of 4 x 4. :)

I am so grateful for this reply, I was beginning to panic. What a relief to find this forum to get help as I was beginning to feel out of my depth with this new phone.

Plz help

the Accuweather in my Galaxy s2 only updates when i am connected to Wifi.
Thru GPRS it shows update fail while my internet is working

Are you sure your Data connection is strong enough?
The 1st time I did this my signal was only on 'G' and it took ages to refresh, but at home its a good signal, 3G or H and it refreshed in a second or two.

Hey, I think this is still on the topic.

When I upgraded to the latest firmware of my SGS2. The AccuWeather widget now only works via mobile Internet. Via Live wifi(that has good reception and high speed Internet) it just says "Connection failed" and I cannot get it to work via any wifi.

Can anyone help with this?

Thanx, Rene

I only have the 2x1 as well. When I resize it, it goes 4x1, but keeps the 2x1 info. Ie, the blue bit is tiny in the middle, with the weather one side and animation other side.

I used to have the 4x1 with all the info, but it's not there anymore!

Are you using the stock launcher? To resize, just long press until yellow box pops up but remember not to move your finger. Maybe with some launchers, resizing just makes it bigger without changing the actual column-row format.

Cheers
