Root Moving from CM7.03 -> Oxygen - GingerVillian ??? Which way to go..

@Hadron - thanks, I've upgraded to Oxygen 2.1.6 to test out 2 days ago and i am very impressed.

One question i do have is that why is the screen orientation not working on the default launcher that comes with the rom eventhough "Auto-Rotate" option is enabled?

The screen only rotates when i go into an app e.g web browser.

I've had to install AWD Launcher and the screen orientation now works on homescreen and appdraw.

Is this a limitation in actual framework?

Thanks in advance,

Have you enabled auto-rotate in main Settings > Display? Needs to be enabled here as well as in launcher settings for it to work. (is that the one you meant? :))

Hi
I have this installed and working well. TrackPad update works well.

My auto rotate is working.. on my home screen if I rotate the phone 90degrees left or right, the screen does rotate correctly.
In Settings > Display Auto Rotate is ticked.

Battery use seems very good:
Currently at 3days, 3h 23min 53s on battery ! :)
Used the phone for some calls, text, 3g and wifi.. Very impressed.

Thanks but I have already done that.
I meant after you have flashed the rom for the first time and you are presented with the home screen with the default background and launcher, I wasn't able to find the setting in the default launcher.
Only setting I have access to is the Settings > Display and then enable AutoRotate.

What I then had to do was download the ADW Launcher from market and installed that which then required me to enable the setting in ADW Launcher settings > System Prefrences > Home Orientation. I set the option to "Auto/Sensor".

Now that workes fine, but I am curious to why it wont work in the default launcher?

Ah, I see. 'Fraid I don't know as I prefer the look of Go Launcher so just installed that straight away anyway.

Was planning a switch from CM7 to Oxygen as well, since im having a few issues, especially with invisible menus (my guess is a memory leak).

Few questions: -

-Do you have GPS issues ?
-Do you have issues with invisible menus after running the phone for a few days ? (popup menus like: holding the full stop to get a bunch of other punctuation marks
-Anything you miss from CM7, besides the trackball wake thats been resolved ?
-does the notification bar come with customizable toggles like CM7

thank you!

I've not tried the GPS.. but I will tonight :)
Not noticed any problems with the POP menu's etc... smilies, punctuation etc seem to be working fine for me.
Only thing I missed was the trackball, but that's now sorted.
Yes you can change the toggles on the notification / power bar :)

To me the phone seems slightly faster and has a better battery life :D
