Root {ROM}[Pure Gingerbread]OMGB 1.2.2{2.3.5}

Finally went through the whole process..and now am on this ROM

very cool! I was always hesitant to try flashing etc, because this is my one and only phone, and didnt want to bork it. but all is well! Def faster and smoother.

quick question.. dont have Swype in this..can it be added? and what OC app you all recommend?

Easiest way to add Swype is sign up for the beta and use their installer to get the newest beta version. It is far superior to the version on the stock DX roms anyway.

True dat. But yuck, swype.

LOL

I actually really like swype. The only ROM I've had issues installing it on using the Swype installer was MIUI

Just was razzing Flying Hellfish, sorry you got caught in the crosshairs man.

I tried Swype gosh over a year ago. Did not care for it so never tried it again. Maybe its gotten better but I just like using my thumbs for typing lol.

Personally I use Thumb Keyboard and love it. But if you dig Swype then this will not suit your needs.

right on.

hmm..now that Ive finally flashed a rom..Im interested in trying more!

do i need to SBF etc each time ( as I did SBF to foyo, then rooted, then bootstrapped )

No but it depends what ROM you want to flash. If you are going to flash 2nd init roms from one to another, no need. If you want to go back to GB based roms then yes.

I like to sbf almost every time myself because I'm anal like that as well as the fact that I like a clean slate when switching between roms.

Ha ha, this thread is making me laugh now.

I don't SBF between flashing but I do keep a clean nandroid of 340 that I sometimes go back to. :)

However, the last 3 times I flashed something was OMGB right to OMFGB right to CM7 unofficial nightly. If you can flash and be fine do it, if you run into weird issues SBF. Or do like tropper and SBF from the start and save some possible headaches.

What's the issue with bluetooth? No one wants to explain it in detail...
I don't know about others but whenever I initiate BT Voice Commands when I press the button on my headset, the app pops up, then it says "Failed to establish connection with headset" and it closes itself. By repeating the process very quickly, I actually knocked myself off of 3G and the VZW network.

Kind of irritating. There are also random bugs with icons - I see the roaming icon whenever I have USB plugged in. When the battery is fully charged, the battery icon sometimes disappears until unplugged but will then show up in the notification part of the bar. Very odd.

The button on my headset doesn't do anything (I probably broke something).
Someone do me a favor and test if voice commands work on OMBG. For example, can you text someone via bluetooth?

Try Connecting your headset and then pressing "Voice Dialer" in your app drawer. Results should be the same as pressing the button your headset.

If I open Voice Dialer and speak commands, I have no issues; Everything works fine (calls, texts etc). If I hold the button on my headset, I get "failure to connect". I wanted to know if that was everyone's experience since I've already fiddled with Bluetooth on my phone.

I just tried opening voice dialer manually and it worked fine this time, weird. Pressing the button my headset still doesn't work, however.
