All About the Batteries

I've been looking at the different batteries that are available for the Droid 3 for some time now. I was hoping we might pool whatever information we have. Here are the batteries I've found on Amazon:

RND Power Solutions Premium Li-Ion Battery (BF5X, SNN5877) for Motorola Bravo (MB525), Defy (MB520) and Droid 3 (XT862)
- No mAh given
- Link

GTMax Standard Replacement Lithium-Ion Battery - 2200mAh for Verizon Motorola Droid 3 XT862 Global Android Phone (Free Gift BlueMall Strap Lanyard)
- 2200mAH
- Link
- Link 2 (Cheaper listing, same seller)

Factory New Extended Slim Battery For Motorola DROID 3 And Milestone 3 1800mAh! High Capacity Slim Battery
- 1800mAh
- Link

New Motorola Droid 3 Oem Extended Battery Bf6x and Cover Door
- 1930~1950mAh (conflicting sources)
- Size requires larger battery door (included)
- Link

Motorola Droid 3 1500mAh Original Standard Battery (Retail Packaging)
- 1500~1540mAh (conflicting sources)
- Link

My biggest concern with each of these batteries is compatibility with the inductive charger battery door. If anyone can provide any information on that, I would appreciate it.

Been lurking here for awhile- decided to finally register and post.

I found and bought a set from eBay- 2 batteries and an external charger because it said the brand of batteries was Moto... 2x BF6X battery + Dock AC Charger For Motorola Droid 3 | eBay
The items came quickly and the batteries (1950mAh) seemed to be just slightly thicker than the original and I thought they would fit w/ the original case.

The batteries were too big to fit in the Droid 3, but just slightly. The non-contacting (where +- is) edge had to be filed down some (I used a finger nail file) and then these fit fine. The battery cover snaps into place but near the battery side, I notice a very slight bulge so this is not a totally perfect fit but it works fine. Although these batteries do not seem to really be Moto batteries, they hold a good charge- so far. We will see how long compared to the original as I am only on day 2 of them. For $9.99 and free, quick shipping, I can't really complain.

This is what I was talking about, though. I wouldn't want a battery I'd have to modify *at all*, plus quality control is likely less than desirable, so if a battery somehow isn't exactly to specs and causes a voltage fluctuation, it could cause instability or even break the phone. Plus, like you said, it really should have had an extended battery door to fully fit properly. I'm happy with my OEM extended battery purchase. In some circumstances I'm ok with cutting corners and getting "ebay" items, but not when it comes to batteries.

So, looks like the batteries I got were knock-off's of the BF6X...which means I should have the slightly larger door. Does anyone know where to just buy the door without having to buy the battery with it?

That's why I just got the OEM. I'm not sure you can even buy just the door. It's possible that the inductive door is also the larger door form factor, but nobody has confirmed. That's going to be $$ anyway.
