$99 Photon with new or upgrade 2 year contract

This upgrade price might not be today only. I thought it was a special "Deal of the Day," but I don't think it is. All the other sites still have $99 as the "new customer" price. Best Buy is the only one I've seen that is ALSO the upgrade price. Nontheless, I'm not risking missing out, so I'm going to Best Buy right after work to have my price adjusted.

I got mine for 99 a couple of weeks ago from BB because they will price match the Shack, which has had 99 for a while.

They must not have been paying close attention because Radio Shack's price (at least, according to the website) was only for New accounts, not for upgrades.

In fact, it still says it like that right now:
Motorola Photon 4G

LOL...That's cool though. At least you got a steal right away. Seems like the price adjustment won't be a problem for me. Luckily, I still have my receipt in my wallet (while I'm still in my 45 day return window).

I got mine adjusted today. Had to go to a second BB as the first one's computer system was screwed. Got about 106 bucks back.

BB had a PNY 32gig class 10 micro SD mem card for $59 in the sales paper, but neither store had any in stock. I have the credit to my Amex card though.:D

Nice. Good looking out regarding the 32gb class 10 micro SD. Did you check on Best Buy website for stock? Looks like a few stores in my area have it in stock. I already have a 32gb card that has been fast enough for my needs (only class 2), but for those that don't have a card, that's a pretty good deal.

There's also a Kingston class 4 32gb that is only 49.99

Looks like the $99 price tag wasn't just a 1 day thing. It's still showing $99 for the upgrade or new price.

I guess the phone isn't selling that well, but I hope that doesn't prevent support. I still feel that the MoPho is such a sleeper for what it offers, despite its quirks.
It's still online today but not in store - still $199 listed there. I did get my money back which is nice.

My husband wishes he could get his EVO4G upgraded to this one, pity he only gets his upgrade every two years again.

I did notice that Best Buy does run sales to try to outbeat some other sellers now and then. If it is $99 next week then I'll wonder why this phone isn't selling so well, otherwise I think they are just trying to compete. They did this with the Intercept last year when I bought it. Great sale for a week and then gone when my dad decided to upgrade to it.

I'm gana run to BB today, do I speak to Returns or BB mobile for this adjustment? And do i need to say anything special? cus I know they are very corporate about these things...

I went to BB mobile, then they said I'd have to do it through Customer Service. Went to customer service and they were about to send me back to BB mobile. Told the guy that they sent me over the Customer Service and in the end, customer service took care of it.

All you need to say is, I just purchased the Photon on (insert date) and saw that the price dropped to $99.99 for an upgrade, so I wanted to have a price match or adjustment made. Customer service guys will enter in whatever they need to and after all is said and done, you should get a $80 or $100 credit to your card (assuming you paid by card). The reason I say $80-100 is because quite a few of us were able to get a price match at Best Buy with the $179 upgrade price that was available at Radio Shack, Walmart, Amazon, and Wirefly, on the day of release (and pre-order for that matter).

When I went to BB I went to customer service first because there was no line and the Mobile area was busy (they are right next to each other at my store) and CS told me to go to the mobile area.

I got my adjustment there. They were thrilled I had my reciept since it made it quicker for them to look everything up so it was easy and painless. So if you have your receipt too I'd bring it.

I told them I saw it for $99 with 2 year contract extention on their website and the guy looked it up to confirm.

They didn't price match the $179 price for me before (no local place had it in stock at that price) so I got $100 + tax back to my credit card.

Interesting that you got some tax money back too. I wonder if it's only in California where the tax is charged based on the retail price (so that part of my upgrade price would never change). I actually never really realized this until I upgraded to the EVO last year.

Technically you are suppose to pay the item cost tax percentage.

So if you are getting it price matched you actually only paid $99 for the device and need to only pay tax on the $99. I would take it up with a manager if they aren't refunding you the tax difference.

Nope. There's nothing I can do. It is a California ruling (just not sure if it applies elsewhere)

I had no idea they would do that there. That's kind of crappy since they are charging $600ish in store for that phone. I couldn't imagine paying $30ish more for a phone just because of that.

Here we are only charged the sale amount (6.75%) so when I paid $200 I paid about $13.50 in tax. I got about half that back with the price match.

Nice. Yeah, kinda sucks, but all CA residents have to deal with it, so I've adjusted.

Thanks for adding insult to injury with that 6.75% mention...CA just recently got lowered to 8.75%, but it was 9.75% last year!...LOL. Oh well, it's a fair trade-off with the great weather, I guess.

Ultimately, my phone was practically free because I got $200 through a Buy Back "special" deal on the LG Optimus S phone that I had upgraded for one of my secondary lines (now using the EVO). On top of that, I had Best Buy gift cards from my credit card rewards. Because of how much I got back from the LG Optimus S, I went straight back to Best Buy Mobile to add on the Buy Back program for both my phone and tablet.

Ouch... we're still grumbling that they didn't lower us back to 5.75%

i am glad you were able to get such a good deal on the phone. That really makes my $106.75 price tag look expensive LOL
