Root [rom] miui4dx 1.8.19[updated 8/23/2011]

To get to 1.7.22 all you have to do is flash the two files! It's that easy!! If you have backups in MIUI/backup from newer builds they need to be removed otherwise your backup app will FC. No need to wipe going to 1.7.22!

I flashed the files from the OP for 1.7.22, but I keep getting force-close errors.

"The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."

What gives?

Do I need to SBF and start from scratch?

I was on .595 and then I used the monster zip to go to CM7, and from there I flashed the latest MIUI. I got the airplane bug a few times, so that's when i decided to try out 1.7.22

Also, when I try to use MIUI's reboot-to-recover from the power button, I get the ! symbol on reboot. If I use Rom Manager, though, it works.

Did you wipe all your data?
I was on MIUI 1.8.19 and tried to go back to 1.7.22 without wiping the data and got the same thing. Once I wiped data I was fine.

The reboot-to-recovery is a known issue on all builds, you either have to use Rom Manager like you said or adb and the command reboot recovery.

There was a power tweak to help with battery life that came out towards the end of 1.8.5 and then was built in to 1.8.12 and after. I found a zip that was released for builds prior to 1.8.5 to get this tweak, but when I try and install it, it aborts on me. I tried it with and without the system mounted. My question is:

Has anyone on 1.7.22 tried this and does it help? (My battery is not bad, but would always like it better if I can)
If so does anyone have the zip that will work? I don't like going in and messing with edits on my own.

Thanks

Just tried MIUI again and its still buggy. Want to love this ROM but just cant. SBF'ing one more time. What will I flash? Your guess is as good as mine.

Cant wait to ditch this phone for something new. :D

Droid X is ahead of it's time. It just became "new" a few months ago :) If you don't have 4G in your area, then upgrading is a waste of money right now.

I didn't wipe data. I wiped before going to CM7, and then I went straight to MIUI 1.8.19.

Then, I flashed straight to 1.7.22.

I'm back on 1.8.19.

What's the easiest way to wipe and then restore apps when I reload a rom?

I love this rom and I really haven't had any battery issues to speak of until this trip I am on. Man, my battery drains down like water going down the commode. :D

Seems like everyone says 1.8.19 has better battery life but the airplane bug is still there. I have to have my phone working 100% so running 1.8.19 is not an option.

Has there been any progress on getting the miui for GB yet?

Liquid was the best battery life for me
I'm trying out miui now but can't find a theme I like

Hey guys. Sorry I'm sure this is answered somewhere in these 700 posts, but how do I reboot into clockwork recovery to install the patches as there is no option to do so. I tried using rom manager before but just got bootloop

Install Rom Manager and do it through there, at least that's how I did it when I tried MIUI for about 2 hours a while ago :p
