analyze battery history

In Android 2.3.3 Have a look at Settings, Applications, then look at a couple of options Battery usage (which I have added as a shortcuton the home screen) shows how much each application listed has used the battery since last charge. Also Runnning services shows what is running in the background and there you can kill processes off if you wish.

Most likely there you will see the "bug" that Wifi Sharing and Wifi Sharing Manager are always running if you have Wifi turned on. They are consuming battery for Wifi Direct function that no-one would use more than 2 minutes in 6 months if you lucky. I hope they fix this soon.

For more detailed analysis there are bunches of utilities out there. I am using Norton Mobile Utilities which is pretty slick - and at the moment - Free!

PS. may vary by device. The above is a Samsung Galaxy S2 running 2.3.3

I have never seen this "bug" nor heard of it. I doubt it applies to all phones with gingerbread.

amlothi - what phone / firmware do you have? I have a stock standard SGS2, 2.3.3 with firmware XWKE7. The wifi sharing processes are part of the Wifi Direct function and they run regardless if Wifi Direct is enabled or not.
