Root Unbrick the LG Ally (Updated 3-2-2011)

I'm running 2.2.3, and I rooted my phone using GingerBreak. I downloaded some apps, and one of them was ROM Manager. Sure enough, I flashed a ROM (Dapple DUck 1.4 or something like that). ANd my phone bricked. For some reason, my recovery got deleted as well. I tried your method above (with drivers installed and everything), and I got nothing but errors in the program that resets the software. Also, the whole thing was in question marks. I couldn't understadn what it was I was agreeing to, and didn't know what to click. any suggestions? it's stuck on the downloading.... do not unplug screeen.

Can I please get some one that has done and completed this successfully. I would like to know if it is a possibility to answer some questions on the topic or maybe even allow me to call on a seperate phone and assist me in fixing my broken phones. I have 2 allys sitting at the same broken point and cant get either of them to work. I need help asap please since I will probably be stuck without a phone for about 10 months if I cant fix this issue.

I have the same issue. After following the tutorial to the letter, it continues restarts saying there is a communication error, then forces me to exit.

Now the phone is utterly hopeless and sits at the downloading do not unplug screen. No restart method resets it.

thats a problem, you caould use LGNPST but it could wipe your meid

try LGNPST

use the LGNPST method

If your meid and phone # show in LGNPST you should be good

I bricked my phone a couple months ago, how I'm not exactly sure. Was running StormDroid 2.x, and I know my phone wouldn't go into recovery unless I did it from inside the ROM (holding down the power button, and u get power off, airplane mode, reboot, and recovery) before I even put StormDroid on it (I'd bounced around between Velocity 1.2.1/2 and Bionix). That means PWR+option+call when the phone is off doesn't work. Anyway, now when I turn it on, it shows the red "StormDroid" shiny lettering and stays there, not rebooting, not entering the Android OS, just sitting there. Well I upgraded to the Droid 4, and so my LG Ally is off contract. I would like to use it as an mp3 player, but first have to unbrick. Should the method on this thread work in full?

Know this is the vs740 thread but really can not find help on cross flashing a us740 to as740. I have download the drivers and made sure they are up to date. All the android and google drivers load up when the device is plugged into the computer when the device is in emergnecy mode it only installs 3 lg drivers. When the device is hooked up to LGNPST after hitting start I get use android drivers when in cs emergncy mode been stuck for a week trying to figure this out help please
