Help Got nexus with 2.34. Wants to update constantly

So,

I just got the nexus s 4g.

Out of the box it comes with GB 2.3.4 which allows tether for free.

But it drives me crazy since it wants to update it every few hours...

How can I either disable to pop-up message to update or still tether for free (without rooting? I don't like to root)

Then, how about the better 4g connectivity? It is true? Did you see a major improvement?

Thanks.

You can not disable it and it will most likely force you to update soon. The update is the GRJ90 update and it was supposed to help with the signal acquisition issues mainly but it is actually a "trojan horse" which will disable your free wifi hotspot and tethering ability. It is bullshit... Sorry to break the bad news.

How long have you been doing that. Does it ever force you to update eventually?

I actually doubt it forces you to update (even though lots of people on here are saying that) because I've been getting the notification for weeks. For a while it was really annoying but it doesn't pop up nearly as often now.

Although when a new Android version is released you may have to do the update in order to get it.
