I hope im the first one with this issue because I looked around and didnt see anything related to my problems.
Ever since I either upgraded to gingerbread or rooted the phone (i did both around the same time) I noticed that every app that I have on my phone that got moved to SD doesnt have an icon. Actually as soon as you place on your desktop, its there but as soon as you restart the phone they all change to the original android icon. I have also changed rom many times and they all do this. Or is it something related to moving the apps to sd card?

it is actually a combo. what you are doing is a thing called apps2sd where part of the app gets moved to the card but the other part stays on the phone. for some reason when you reboot your phone the sets up the cache files it reorganizes where the apps are and you loose those icons. not sure why it does it but it does.

again though you really do not need to keep booting up your phone like that. it is kind of like a computer in that you actually are doing more harm to the phone if you keep rebooting like that. it has to work hard to get the os up and running and it also waste battery if you keep doing it.

really the only time you should be booting up the phone is to flash something or make a nandroid backup. or something like that.

You can also do whats posted below.

menu > settings > applications > manage > select the "all" tab > scroll down to HTC Sense (there are 2 options, click the one with the clock > force stop > hit OK, then go back to your home screen and Sense will reload with your icons.
