Wow, it was so easy with Odin..can't believe I didn't do this before:)

Agree GPS is instant vs previous official firmware...get a good lock indoors now.

Wifi is still shocking though...can't even get a signal when stood right next to router!!

Mine does seem faster, and found a few new settings options I didn't have before.

Will see how long battery lasts when I go out later.

Hi Guys,

I just got my galaxy s2, and someone mentioned the chainfire app that would allow me to control my DSLR with the phone... if it were on KG or higher (I'm on KF... so close!). I'm hoping to use it to get more live shots of my live wedding band - though as yet they've not implemented a time lapse feature...

Anyway, since I've only just got it, I've just spent the last 3 days setting it up, and am reluctant to do the same again! Saying that, at least I wouldn't lose much!

So, my questions:

  • Does KH3 wipe or not?
  • Does it work fully? I don't want to find I'm no longer supported for any apps I'm using!

Thanks already for your help!

Mike

I flashed KH3 the other day, download non wipe version from xda, best firmware yet for me.

Lock screen lag is gone and homescreen swiping is smoother, also with previous betas the signal dropped now and again causing the screen the come on randomly, but this is not the case with KH3 so i'm happy. :D

My wifi connection is solid. Try changing your channel number in your router. My win 7 computer seems to have issues with my router.

So no one else is having heat issues?? ?

Hey. I really want to buy sgs2 but the only thing that worries me is the wifi signal from distance. In my work the router is kinda far awAy from me (10 to 13 meters), but I can get good signal (2bars) with my iPhone. Have u tried get ting signal from such a distance?

My S2 has excellent wifi reception. Router is in our living room and I have almost full bars everywhere in house (3 stories). I can also use it in my backyard on patio.

I think some people's routers are not configured correctly. I set mine to wireless n only, channel that does not conflict with neighbors router, and short band 20 not 20/40.

I have noticed that because of interference that my win 7 computer sometimes loses wifi. I have to change channel in router to get a signal again.

I have just updated my firmware to kh3 (via odin - pretty scary, I was an odin Virgin!)
All went well but no obvious changes, and too soon to see how the battery will perform.
But the real reason I did it was to get rid of the lockscreen lag but I am disappointed as the lag is still there - is there any way to get rid of the delay? It is the only real fault / irritation I have left with this phone.
