Help Battery on gingerbread sucks?

So I have upgraded one of my Optimus Ones (out of 2) to Gingerbread using this guide:
Guide to Install Android 2.3 Gingerbread (CM7) on LG Optimus One P500
and left the other one at Froyo. I had a full charge on both at around 7 PM, turned on the Wifi and Bluetooth on both phones, and left them idle. The next day at around 10 AM I found out that the one with Gingerbread has turned itself off due to low battery while the one with Froyo still has around 90%. I thought Gingerbread is supposed to have better power management? Is this upgrade version a bad one? Or can it be that Gingerbread has some hidden power-draining processes that I did not turn off?

Thanks in advance! :D

Did you check what background apps you were running? Since you said you d id a fresh install, and your wireless was connected, there could have been some data transfer that happened which led to the drain! As far as i knw, less than 15 hrs is very low for a GB, especially for a P500. If you have time, i would suggest you to repeat the process again, check for background apps and try.
I myself had updated to official GB, and did get a good battery life!

PS: may be this time around, you could interchange the battery and try! See if itst he issue with the battery.

11 hrs... A bad bargain! Is it a new phone?
Did you leave the phone idle? Also, where all the background apps killed?

I reverted the GB phone back to Froyo and the battery life is back to very awesome (1 day idle with Wifi + Bluetooth on = ~ 5% drain). In terms of services, I only have Settings, Bluetooth Share, Market, Google Services, Android Keyboard, and Android Live Wallpapers running, so it looks pretty standard. I did do the GB upgrade twice already, and both times the battery life sucks. Which method of rooting/upgrade did you use?

Thanks for the reply! :D

I have noticed that if you send or receive any sort of MMS or use data that the phone will seem to glitch and keep its self awake regardless of the screen being on or off... The quick fix i found was to turn the phone on airplane mode then remove the battery wait a bit, put it back in and keep it on airplane mode for a bit... the major thing is to keep the data connection off.

Which is really stupid, LG needs to fix this issue for those who don't want to root their phone
