Root Get unrooted for warranty service!

Thanks for this thread.

When I unzipped the file and attempt to enter into it via CMD, I also received the 'system cannot find the specified path' message. Do I simply unzip all the elements into a folder called adb_s-on?

I did the above and then proceeded to connect my phone. When I typed in the command 'adb devices' my phone does not show up.

I connected the phone and selected the 'Disk drive mounting' option.

Any ideas as to what I can do to make the phone appear?

The adb file can be unzipped into a folder of your choosing. You just need to know the name and location of it to get there in the command prompt. You should have it plugged in and set to charge only. Let me know if you still have issues getting it recognized.

Interesting, instead of copy and pasting, I typed it in and am now getting a permission denied response.

I notice the difference between the copy & paste is the open & close apostrophe's around 'boot recovery'.

In any case, permission denied. Is there something I need to open up?

Try and reboot your computer. Also, verify that you do have s-off in hboot....just to be sure :)

This is quite an ordeal! Thanks for sticking around.

I rebooted, have confirmed hboot is s-off but am still receiving the permission denied issue.

I am also now getting a 'adb server is out of date. killing...' message before the command is processed. I don't think this is a big issue as the orders are still being run...but strange that it shows up now.

I have not seen that message before. I am at work, but I will look into it when I get a few minutes. Are you an admin on the pc you are using?

ok so the permission denied can be one of two things. one it could actually be denying permission. check the superuser app in your phone and see if there is any permission denied . also that phrase is generic. it could mean that it does not understand the command.
try typing the command adb shell “echo ‘boot-recovery(try a single space right here)’ > /cache/recovery/command”

I'm in need of some help here. My power button is broken.

I'm stuck on installing unrevoked s-on tool

It's telling me radio version unsupported and failing install.

Can you tell me the commands to roll back my radio version? I've got it downloaded, but don't know the commands to get the radio to install through adb.

any help is appreciated

edit//

I tried modifying the install commands as such:
Adb shell “echo ‘boot-recovery’ > /cache/recovery/command”
Adb shell “echo ‘--update_package=SDCARD:EVO_Radio_1.39.00.05.31.zip’ >> /cache/recovery/command”
Adb shell “reboot recovery”

but it sits in recovery "updating" but it doesn't seem to stick. once I reboot by pulling battery it still shows the old radio version.

Do you have s-on? Run the RUU that Ocn linked you too.....it should restore your to stock. There have been times where nand doesn't lock til the RUU is flashed.

I haven't been able to run the unrevoked s-on tool since I'm getting a radio version error.

I'll try the RUU and see what happens

edit: error 171: usb connection error
it's still connected of course, but it sure fails. I'l try running straight to the computer instead of through a hub

edit 2: still usb connection error
