then cut the extra screen protector provided to fit the camera glass, in combination with your new case, sounds like some good slim protection to me

It has been a while since you posted this, but I was wondering how this mount ended up working for you. What I really wanted was an actual car dock with charger, but I can't seem to find any that will work with an Otterbox Defender. I don't really want to have to keep taking the case off whenever I want to use it in my car. This mount seems to be about perfect, other than not having a built in charger, but that is no big deal. I am curious about a couple of things in particular though. First, how has it held up now that you have had it for a while? Does it still hold the phone tightly? Second, it appears that I can put the phone in there in such a way that the camera would still work. Is that a safe assumption? I don't really see myself USING that functionality, but I'd rather have the option, and not need it, than to actually want/need the functionality, but not be able to.

I just ordered an ExoMount earlier this week ($20 shipped on eBay). I'll post up a mini review early next week to answer some of those questions.

I have the Seidio Surface w/ Kickstand and didn't want to have to remove it all the time in the car and also be tied into only using this phone with it. (wife has the Evo 4G).

I have the Seidio Surface kickstand case. It's a good case, but the kickstand itself is disappointing...for one thing, the tip of the kickstand is curved inward so it's impossible to get out, you'll need at least a medium length fingernail to do it. It's also plastic, so it doesn't feel nearly as robust as the EVO 4G metal kickstand. Otherwise, the case is fine, it fits the phone well and has the build quality I've come to expect from Seidio.

For what it's worth, I have the Seidio kickstand case and it does not cover the speaker. I have no complaints with it. Well, it doesn't protect the camera glass, so I guess it's not perfect. But I bought the Martin Fields screen protector because it comes with a camera cover. I didn't use the screen protector (already have a zagg) but I put the martin fields camera protector on the camera. So with that combination there is no complaints.

The Seidio case is a 2 piece deal that locks onto the phone. And it's so slim, much less bulk than the silicon case I had been using previously. It's s great case and I would highly recommend it.

Oh yeah, lol, I just remembered another complaint about the Seidio- you can't charge the phone while the kickstand is out (unless you do it in portrait mode).

No wonder I missed it. Ballistic did release their hardcore case, they just have no mention if it on their site. Amazon has it. Ordered, will comment when it arrives. I do currently have the trident kraken ams case. Review: get something else.
