Pallets u say? maybe thats why my regional Costcos haven't gotten it yet. maybe its too big for expedited shipping.

However, just in case, i am gonna assume the worst and go early as possible. If there are many people waiting, i will just mow/tackle them down. good thing i've been working out recently. :cool:

We're also getting a pallet. Between the box of phones with accessories, adding the packages the accessory bundle is likely to come in, I suppose a pallet is necessary to keep everything together. Guess it's just not a very big pallet. :thinking:

Ok, so this is what I know. The Bionic is officially in the Costco system with other new inventory. That inventory date is scheduled to come in on Sept. 13. However, all the inventory has to go through their depot for processing. Cellphones don't. They take two days to get here after it officially gets in the system. Today was the 6th. I'm thinking that's why some kiosks don't think they'll be able to sell them on launch day.

The $300 price tag is confirmed. That coincidentally confirms the bundle. We know that's how much the phone will cost at VZW. Costco always beats that price by $50 at least. If it costs the same, then we're offering something in addition to that.

We know how many we're getting 6 in our region. Our district and regional managers are pushing for getting expedited shipping if/when we sell out. Can't guarantee it, but they're behind it. Also, expect this deal to be in place a while. So if you need to wait a lil bit before getting it, don't think you're going to miss the boat. There will be more, and this deal will continue.

Almost here, I know everyone's as excited as I am!

Does that mean the phones won't get to the stores until sometime in the afternoon on the 8th?
If it takes cell phones 2 days to get to the store after they're officially in the system, that would sound like it won't be there when the stores open on the 8th, rather it will get there at some other point during the day. So is there any point in getting to the store when it opens?

Do you have access to look at inventory for stores/regions outside of the Southeast?

No, it would arrive in the wee hours of the morning on the 8th. There's people working at Costco 24 hours. You should see that place before doors open, it's amazing. Music blaring, forklifts abound, things getting shuffled around. It's like a rock opera.

I don't, no. I can only see my store.

Let me also throw this out there: tomorrow is "arts and crafts day". Every Wednesday, we change out the promotions for the week, the lil paper squares that tell you the pricing, and the paperwork for our latest inventory with the IRC codes. If the Bionic is truly destined for Thursday, that paperwork is going to show up. I'm not working there tomorrow, but my KM knows to alert me on anything Bionic related. Believe me when I say this folks, I'm as rabidly obsessed with this phone as any of you.

this thread is really killing me. i mean how early do you have show up to guarantee you're one of the 6 lucky buyers when every costco i've called has told me they've gotten tons of calls?? if it'd be up to me i'd cruise by around 8 just to make SURE i don't miss out, but seeing as i live in a place where nary a costco can be found within 300 miles, i'm having my parents in PA run out to pick me up the package and i just don't have the heart to ask them to be there an hour before showtime. shooting for 9:30 and hoping that should be good enough

Truth is, there is no guarantee. I don't think any of us were expecting such a low quantity. We have an app that we all use to talk amongst each other, and well...let's just say we're all wishing we had more.

At my store, we probably sell more feature phones than smartphones. We have an older clientele that primarily use a phone to make calls, and they rarely do that. So it's kind of surprising that I'm pretty sure we're going to be sold out when we open. I can account for 5 of them being gone when the doors open.

And don't worry, I'll be keeping you'se informed. We want to sell em, you'se want to buy em.

Yankee I have a question for you.

You mentioned that the southeast region was only getting 6 each, what constitutes the southeast? I am not sure how many regions you guys have so would Alabama be considered the southeast or the south? I live in a very geeky city so I am concerned about the 6 number. I know you can't tell me what my Costco will get but I just wanted a better idea if the 6 number would be accurate for my area.

I live in the southwest (Tucson) and I was told that the store closest to me was only getting six as well. The newest Costco is not even getting the Bionic on launch day. Time to set my tent up I guess.

I stopped by both the Verizon Store and a Costco nearby last night, to inquire about ANYTHING they might tell me.

The lady at the Verizon store was nice, but couldn't tell me anything other than the phone releases on the 8th.

I then walked up to the Verizon kiosk at Costco, the manager was really excited to show me the bionic mock-up (which is awesome btw) and also said he didn't know what the accessory bundle would be, or if they would have any on the 8th. He did however, give me his card and said he'd give me a call one way or the other on Thursday morning (and indicated he might hold one for me if I hurry).... We shall see.... My OG droid is hanging on by a thread... Can't take this much longer!

If the costco in town doesn't have any I will hit up every single verizon store in town.

I get a $50 credit and 20% off any accessories so I can get my car dock and charger that way (may just use my OG Droid car charger though), although I would prefer costco's deal.

like most people have said, my costco cell rep said the same thing "yes" they will only have a few to sell and that I was about the 20th person to call and say they'd be there early.

He did say that most people will probably change their minds in the morning and to still show up early.

Where in NJ? I live in Connecticut, and just got off the phone with my local warehouse wireless kiosk. He didn't even know if they're going to have them for sure tomorrow. He told me to call back later today. However, I work in Montvale, NJ, and was thinking of hitting up either the Nanuet store or the one in Hackensack on my lunch hour in hopes there might still be any left to buy... The downside is, sales tax is higher in both NY and NJ. Oh well! :-D

If you have a Costco Executive Membership, like me, you get into the store 1 hour before everyone else does, hellllloooooo droid bionic and gooooodbyeee people waiting at the door. Only I wanted to know if the kiosk will actually be open? Although I dont see why it wouldn't because they advertise this special offer as a plus to getting the card itself.
