Root I want my 4g back!

I recently rooted my Photon 4G and now cannot access 4g. It states scanning, but will not actually connect to a network. Does anyone know how to fix this while retaining root? 20 gold doubloons to the person to figure this out!

Try turning the phone off and back on. That seems to work for some people.

Edit: did you unlock the bootloader, too? That does break 4G, it's a known issue. The XDA devs are working on it.

I believe I did unlock the bootloader. That's the only way my phone could root (tried other methods to no avail). And the phone on/off thing hasn't worked yet after several tries. I hope this gets solved soon. Otherwise my Photon has a huge blow to it's worth.

Not to sound like a condescending ass hole but did you read all of the warnings before you unlocked it? It clearly stated unlocking the boot loader would kill 4G for the time being. Also, it seems strange you couldnt root without unlocking the boot loader. I had no problem outside of me reading something wrong.

Not to sound annoyed, but I did read all the warnings beforehand. This thread is for whenever they do come up with a fix, so that myself and others can fix our connectivity problem. I'm not proclaiming to be a techie, or even a genius at following directions, but I've rooted before and know how not to destroy my phone. I even know the fix of relocking my phone of the original sbf file recently released that would solve the problem. So thanks for the comment that did not answer the original question of the thread. You're a photon hero

Yeah, unlocked bootloader = borked 4G for now. One reason I'm waiting before I do it.

On the plus side though, ROMs! :D Celebrate the little victories!

Hmm well if you read then why ask?

When there's a fix, start a thread then with a proper title.

Your title and op sound like you had no clue what was going to happen and now want a magic fix for something that a person who did a little research would of known was going to happen. So clarification of your thread and posts would be just slightly helpful.

Agreed. His original post made it sound like he didn't read the warnings or have any idea on what's going on.

If this were the case then

why did you post this?

As others have stated, your original post reads as though you were totally clueless- It wasn't until a later post that you replied you'd unlocked it which makes your original post seem as though you lost 4G due to root.

Any of us that have done our homework knows unlocking the bootloader is not necessary to obtain root which then makes your original post seem as though you read NONE of the disclaimers which clearly state you will loose 4G unlocking the bootloader.

I would've probably replied to you in the same fashion since the ONLY person who was aware that "This thread is for whenever they do come up with a fix, so that myself and others can fix our connectivity problem." was you!
