So my buddy just got this phone and its pretty cool. We were taking videos in the pool and it works great using the physical shutter button underwater. The problem arises when I start filming above waters and then go under the water activates the touchscreen and causes it to stop recording. Does anyone know how to disable the touchscreen shutter or a camera app that doesn't have one. Or any other ideas? Ive looked in the market for an app that disabled the touchscreen and couldn't find any that work

. To record videos underwater with the Casio Commando, you have to 1) call someone and stay on the call 2) start the camcorder recording 3) tap the power button to turn off the screen. The phone thinks the water is your fingers and the water will control your phone to do weird things such as stop recording. The sound of the speakers on the phone gets clogged with water so it does not sound good until the water drains out of the speakers. I blow on the different doors and holes on the phone to clear the water so I can hear the speakers. I wait on the phone to dry completely before charging again or opening the doors for any reason. I do own a Casio Commando activated, a Droid X activated and a Blackberry activated. Check out my video at the link below. Search for my channel on you tube CasioCommandoFun to see my videos

What he said...

Three feet for thirty minutes. I don't think they intended for people to intentionally take the phone under water. I would imagine that once the earphone port cover or charging port cover has been opened a bunch of times it won't be quite so water tight and you won't have a happy ending.

You can do what you want, but its a bad idea to intentionally submerge your phone. As others have found, Verizon nor Casio will not warrenty the phone for water damage that's going to happen which will turn those white moisture indicators red.

I swam in Lake Martin with the Casio Commando in my hand as a paddle for 15 minutes. That was fun. I can use the docking station for charging and a Bluetooth headset, and I would never need to use open the covers on the phone. With insurance on the phone, if it breaks, for a hundred bucks, I get a new phone. Well, it has been going on 3 months since I purchased the Casio Commando, and it still works fine. I have submersed it in water about 10 times.
