Moving to verizon. So... Bolt or Bionic?

Just moving from AT&T to an actual cell provider, im excited, and def getting an lte device.
But as i was set on the bolt, the bionic came out two days ago, so i have not switched yet, im torn, opinions? I rock an att inspire 4g at the moment, but also used the atrix for awhile, so i like moto and htc. i guess i would choose the bolt right away if the bionic didnt have that dual core processor. Will that matter in the following 2 years? Or would it still be safe to go with the bolt? Please help haha

Dual core isn't the same on all phones. Specifically if you compared a Motorola dual core with a Samsung. The bionic shocked the hell out of me when I finally got to play with it. My single core phone literally feels faster than that dual core and it makes no sense at all. I've got an upgrade waiting for something that's actually better

For you though I'd say...play with them. Camera is better on the bolt as well as UI. Bionic? I wouldn't get it even if I just came to Verizon but then again I'm not you. Play with them!

At this point with the Vigor and possibly the Prime coming out soon I'd probably wait. If you can't wait then I'd still get the TB. It's a great phone and It's developer community is large. The Bionic is getting some bad reviews on battery life and VERY slow charging from Motorola fan boys. That's never a good thing

Dual core is the future so yes getting the Bionic over the Thunderbolt will be a better decision hardware wise. I've never used the Bionic before but if its anything like the Atrix then stay away from it. I went to ATT with my buddy who was looking to leave iOS for Android. His decision was between the Atrix and Inspire. At the store, I did a hard reset on the Atrix which was version 2.2 at the time and then we played with it. The Atrix was extremely laggy compared to the Inspire even after erasing all the crap people downloaded onto it. Good luck with your decision!

Will you be using the phone primarily in Alaska? If so, I wouldn't get Verizon.

I have an upgrade but I'm gonna wait for the vigor. Moto blocking wireless tether plus the reported poor battery life is all I needed to hear to make my mind up.
then again I already have an awesome phone so its probably easier for me to wait it out.

even if you leave dual core out of the equation, the vigor will have a .5 ghz faster qualcom processor,and nicer resolution.

id wait if its at all possible.

I realize it's hard to wait, but we should be fairly close to better information on the Vigor and the Galaxy Nexus Droid Prime, or whatever it ends up being on Verizon. It's easy for me to wait because I love my ThunderBolt, even with it's issues, but I wouldn't recommend it with the prospect of what may be coming soon. Nor would I recommend the Bionic, unless you inform yourself by reading some good reviews and then go and play with one yourself. See if you like the Pentile screen or not. Personally, I'm really looking forward to my next phone having an HD resolution, especially if it's a little larger, maybe 4.65". Rumors may not come true, at least not on the next couple of phones released, but we should have more reliable information very soon. A larger screen may be too large for many people, myself included, but I really want to hold one in my hand and make an informed decision.

I think it's a little disingenuous for TB owners to point out the reported bad battery life on Bionic and not mention the same about TB.

I'd buy a used TB now and use your upgrade on Prime. Not sure how that would work as a new customer. This is not to say I endorse TB as being a long-term solution. Too bad you couldn't switch before unlimited data went away. Good luck.

I tried the Bionic out, had it for a day and went back to my Bolt... The Bionic is a nice phone, really fast, the screen takes some getting use to but the deal breaker for me was the poor camera. Really slow focus time and it took to long to take a pic once you pressed the camera button, plus I really didn't think the quality of the pics could even compare to the Bolts The Bolts camera blows it away... my opinion at least. I've read quite a few complaints about the Bionics camera so im not alone

Im gonna hold out for the Vigor

As far as battery life with the thunderbolt, they have really improved it with the past few updates and the bolt is a whole new phone once you root it. I flashed liquid thunderbread 2.6 on mine last week and now there is no bloatware and it runs faster, smoother and has great battery life. I can now make. It a full day with moderate use on 4g with battery to spare. I am really loving my thunderbolt and like it much better than the bionic that I tried in the Verizon store, even though I am a big fan of Motorola.

Moving to verizon. So... Bolt or Bionic?
