Help Did I get a lemon Seansation 4G?

Hi, I just bought the Sensation at the T-Mo store. I realize my best bet is to search, but as I will be gone most of the next 2 days won't be possible right now, just want to get some concerns out before I exchange or swap for perhaps the G2x.

Takes forever to charge - 6 hours so far from about two thirds full

Speaker horrible - low volume and sounds like the case vibrates or something

Mic may be bad - ppl are saying my calls are going up and down in volume or hard to understand like a raspy sound at end of words

Ringtone disappears (the ringing itself) even though volume is up and settings are correct, this happened once so far, pulling and re-inserting the battery restored, but will it be an ongoing problem?

wi-fi weak - can't even reliably stay connected right outside my house

volume buttons are constantly pressed while holding the phone

Thanks much, and Happy 4th!

Speaker horrible - low volume and sounds like the case vibrates or something - just the way it is unfortunately

Mic may be bad - ppl are saying my calls are going up and down in volume or hard to understand like a raspy sound at end of words - first I've heard of

Ringtone disappears (the ringing itself) even though volume is up and settings are correct, this happened once so far, pulling and re-inserting the battery restored, but will it be an ongoing problem? - it's a problem with the media player and the flash plug in. Again reboot will fix the issue

wi-fi weak - can't even reliably stay connected right outside my house - my WiFi works great so i dunno

volume buttons are constantly pressed while holding the phone - hold your phone differently (sorry couldn't resist)

Thanks much, and Happy 4th! - to you as well

My answers are within the quote.

Try exchanging the device before you switch to the g2x. Just my opinion but th g2x is just the biggest letdown. Again, before I piss off any g2x owners, this is my opinion. All phones have their problems but I'd rather have my Sensation with its problems(I don't have any...knocks on wood) then a g2x with its problems. I like vanilla android but that thing was just not impressive at all. I waited so long for that phone and was so disappointed when I finally got to use one.

i agree with jree g2x was the biggest mistake i made! with your problems that you have you might have gotten one defective one i would atleast swap for new sensation. im sure outa the million devices made there are a couple that didnt pass the bar but still got pushed trew! i love mine and have no issues that a simple batt pull couldnt solve!

ps. i went from g2x to sensation 4g g2x not reliable even after 4 of them :)

Thanks everyone for your helpful advice. This phone really grew on me, starting to really like it despite it's drawbacks. However, I'm taking the one I have back tonight to exchange for another sensation. Many people say my voice is cutting in and out, and the ringer not ringing problem came back today where I missed an important call. Taking out and re-inserting the battery fixes that, but I shouldn't have to do that and miss calls. Seems like the sound goes out completely, as not even an alert tone if they leave a VM.

I would like to find out how to answer a call without having to pull the ring on the screen every time someone calls me, that's irritating, hopefully there's something in the mauual about that.

I love the phone! I have been told by everyone I ever spoken to on the phone that my voice fades in and out. I've been told that it sounds like I'm whispering or that I'm speaking from around a corner. Sometimes the lock ring can be very unresponsive and it can get quite annoying! I returned it today and hopefully the new one wont give me any problems.

i'm trying to find a way to be able to answer a call without having to pull the ring also. but isn't that just how it is when the phone is locked? i guess after a few days, i got used to it. i just treat "pulling the ring" as the "button" to answer a call when the phone is locked. at least i'm not required to pull the ring + doing the pattern thing. that would be really annoying and causing me to miss calls.

i'm more annoyed that the phone lock does not allow users to set custom delay (like 1 min). immediate is too quick, 3 min is too long of a wait.
