Got Galaxy S2 about 4 weeks ago. Beautiful pics for 4 weeks, then out of nowhere everythings is blurry. And yes, I have cleaned the lense, and of course, I checked -rechecked and played with the settings. Is there something I am missing????? Still take pictures, but despite highest resolution possible everything seems almost always out of focus and turns out blurry. Help?!

Go to camera setting in the app itself and do a reset. Things will become waht tgey were earlier.

have the same problem....after some time the camera just started producing really bad quality pix, seems there is a problem with the focus....and nothing happened -the phone did not fall, nor is the camera lens cover scratched, did not change any settings

tried resetting the settings, did not work
my firmware is up-to-date

did anyone find a solution to this, or at least the reason why is the phone behaving this way?

the only thing i can think of is that there is some very small dust particle that got inside the camera lens cover which is preventing the camera to focus properly, not sure about this but i guess i need to go to the store to have them look at it
still hope somebody has a solution :)

Had the same thing in my case it was because I'd put the scene to "Document" and for some reason the focus mode remained on "Macro" after opening the camera again a few days later, so check your focus option.

Mine did exactly the same. That setting seems to stay.

If you put it into Macro mode and take a close up picture - is it ok? Then put it across to face detection and cycle through and see if it is a particular type of focus, indicating software. Matybe forcing the way it focuses could help reset it. (Assuming its not hardware like dust, as you've suggested)

Hello, have almost same problem. After updating to newest software from gingerbread, the camera got weaker, picture quality droped, earlier got great pictures, if you zoom it, you see all car numbers. Now if i make the same photo, the car numbers got blury (bad graphics') I want to re-update, roll back. If that posible? I updated via WI-FI using my phone 'check for update' fuction. I am not rooted, nor whanting to root. BTW, its my first update, does updates come regulary or very rarely? (a month? a session?, year?, a milenium????)

You got all the info In this thread, right here.

You don't have to be rooted to do this, nor will you be rooted after it (though there's a guide about why and how to root, if ya want).
Check out the bits about "Official i9100 carrier branded firmware" and "Official i9100 Firmware Download and Root Guide" - and decide if you want a branded firmware or not.
The guide to flash the firmware may seem difficult, but it's alot easier than it looks, and should'nt take more then a few minutes, but make sure you follow the steps correctly.

This should make your camera better, in my opinion.
