Android Tv Box Flexiview FV-1

before upgrade i had same issue ( it says ' no access' ) but just went to system update and said yest to search and system found it and "ask to upgrade", clicked yes and waited,

light stayed on ,lights flashed and rebooted and now good as gold

But if you cant copy the file to /data, how did you perform the upgrade? My instructions say that the android.osk file should be copied from the external drive to the internal memory, into a folder called UpdateKit. Attempting this failed as the internal memory appears to be protected, or read only. So without being able to copy the upgrade file over, I cannot update it.

So could you please clarify the location of the file where you upgraded yours from?

Thanks

is there an android box that supports full HD correctly? I was going to give Flexiview as advice for a friend of mine who saw mine...

I also picked up the Geniatech ATV300 Nano. It runs a 800Mhz Cortex A9 (I guess this would be the Amlogic single core variant and not the more expensive Samsung dual core version). Main thing though is the GPU is decent. There are some scaling issues (black borders at the edge of some TV screens) but otherwise good.

It does HD really well but the box is missing WiFi which is a pretty big deal to me.

Also this is also new ....

ANDROID 2.3 TV SET-TOP BOX HDMI 1080P (Bring Your TV Alive With Android PC !)

The Rockchip RK2918 CPU shows promise, though at a steeper cost than the RK28* series. There is a lengthy video on the ARMDEVICES.net site regarding Rockchip series.

The only issue sometimes is that the advertised chip on the site doesn't always make it into the devices. The RK2918 can apparently do 1080p video, whatever lower cost variant ends up in the device may not.

If you do get one, please share your experience.

i "copied" like instructions said and pasted UpdateKit in Data folder and came up with "replace existing folder", said yes then "no access" when trying to open it.Copy whole folder called UpdateKit not just .osk file.

Nothing happened (said to wait for update to do it on own) so i went to software update and searched and picked it up, said to reboot and so i did and took 5min and she booted up and all is good npo need to pair remote nothing.

I have new video player, more icons on top of screen(like taskbar),faster responds all i can see so far

good as gold - means unit running good with no problems.

But when I copy and paste the UpdateKit folder, nothing gets copied over. No file found when I go to update as I expect, because no file or folder is copied, it just says 'no access' and doesn't copy anything. Any suggestions anyone? Thanks

Cant believe I am having such issues just doing a simple firmware update. I would create an sdcard image to do it with SDTool, but that fails to find the SDcard, so it seems both options are failing for me. Will have another go tonight, but I doubt anything will change. Thanks

UPDATE: Still getting nowhere with updating the box firmware. Cannot copy the folder to /data

Well, I ordered a Bluetooth keyboard (Rii (copy?)) with built in touch pad. With BlueInput from Teksoft I finally got the keyboard working, but the built in touch pad is a no go (even if it works very well under Windows). Bought a cheap wireless mouse (some "house brand") with microreceiver, and that worked very well.
Tried a Bluetooth mouse too, and got it connected also using BlueInput, but instead of moving the pointer, it worked like the arrow keys on the keyboard (jumping between input fields).

Good work Sir.So purchasing a normal logitech wireless keyboard and mice would be a wise decision. Was planning to purchase a inbuit mousetrack with the keyboard. I aapricate and thank for the info provided.

...Does all FV-1 have working Android market?...

if it doesn't have it, 1) upgrade to latest firmware or 2) get the [market_version].apk from some site, apktop, etc. and install it. Should work without problems I guess. Mine worked from box

PS: Android Market detects my unit/device/settopbox as "Mesada TV..." and filters tons of apps. Anyway, 99% apps I installed in the device were downloaded from apktop or other sites and installed from SD or OTA-WIFI

Have you tried updating via the box go to settings>>system updates follow the instructions to backup and update. Worked for me remember to put Updatekit folder in sd card and bootup

WDTV,Logitech is building up to new units doing the same as these units i heard today from gadget geek.

After upgrading to the latest Firmware update from here (this page) the unit runs smoother and plays my videos good but would still rather play them on my WDTV Live setup.

Also this is also new ....
