Hi,
I'm new to the LG Revolution Forum.
My wife has a LG Revolution and I have the Thunderbolt. When she first got her phone she could not hold a 4G signal and the phone was getting pretty hot when plugged in. Then I did a factory reset and that solved the problem for both issues. It took me a while to decide which phone to go with.... The TB, Droid Charge or the Revolution so after looking at comparisons, reviews, etc.. I opted for the TB.
I was able to use 4G at first and using mobile hotspot was great (just as fast as Comcast) but then I noticed the very next day that my TB would stay at 3G and using the hotpspot became more of an issue. Either my computer would barely retrieve a website or not retrieve it at all. This became very frustrating so I'm using my wife's LG as a hotspot and is working very, very well. I have automatic selected and CDMA + LTE/EvDo auto is enabled using the LTE switch app. We are in the same house of course and her's shows 4G all day and my TB is always in 3G mode.
Last night we were at an event and one of the guys that was recording the event wanted to stream it over the internet but the internet connection there was very slow and spotty. So I told him to sign on and use my hotspot which did show 4G. When he signed on the TB switched to 3G and knocked him off 3xs and when he was on it was a very slow connection. So I had him sign on to my wife's LG and he was up and running the entire night streaming like crazy in 4G and while my wife was even on a conference call.
Now she's trying to get me to switch to the Revolution and I have to say after really playing with her's all day today and comparing; I have made up my mind that I am going back to Verizon and switch to the Revolution on Monday. I still have a few days left before my 14 day return policy is up. I have to pay $35.00 for the switch but it will be well worth it. I'm really getting use to the way the Rev's OS operates and the fact that it runs very smoothly. I still like the TB and it's a good phone (other than the 4G issue and also I have to re-pair my bluetooth each time I turn my earpiece on) but I just think Rev. has a little more to offer.
