***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

No, we're here because we thought this would be the new shiny that had all the features we've been longing for. I don't know that any of us are brand-committed. If I were a lesser person I'd insert a snarky comment about Apple iPhans but I won't :p

You have repeated what I wrote, but you don't understand only the Nexus will be first device including 'all the features you've been longing for'. ;)

What are the ramifications of a metal case? Good? Bad?

Wouldn't that make it heavy?

Handy for hammering nails?

For me, internal storage is very important. 16G and no expansion slot is a deal breaker. I'll go with a 16+32 phone in that case, or stick with my N1 and a 32G memory card for another year or so. I take lots of pictures and videos and I've already had to offload my SD card once or twice, not a fun time. I know Google's trying to push us toward the cloud, but what about when you're in the clouds (i.e. on a plane)? Provide the silly little expansion slot, Google, and LET THE USERS CHOOSE.

We're here because of the Nexus brand! That's all now! If it is not a nexus it won't have ICS too, don't even delude yourself. First ICS device in the universe will be nexus with poor google experience. It will, don't deny. . . . .

The biggest emotions about this device are about the NEXUS - and that's what are we waiting here now.

First of all, we're not all here because of the Nexus brand. A bunch of us came here because Verizon passed on the SGSII; we would have gotten that, happily.

Second of all, yes I believe that ICS will be on the Prime when it does release, but Google is not always the first one with new software as you state. OG Droid was the first with 2.0 even though it wasn't a Nexus device. And honeycomb was first on the Xoom, and I haven't seen a "nexus" tablet anywhere. So that logic is seriously faulty.

And the only feature that a possible Nexus Prime will have over any other phone will most likely be ICS, unless it will shock us all and ship with 2.0 Ghz and 2 GB of RAM, with a second-gen LTE chipset. Vigor seems to be keeping up with it in all respects except OS and a tiny bit smaller screen.

By your own logic, you will get Nexus even if it comes out with Gingerbread, no LTE, single core, and a non-HD screen. Because, hey, at least it's the Nexus 3. Most, if not all, of us will pass on the Nexus Prime if it doesn't live up to expectations and falls flat upon release.

You didn't understand. Your logic is faulty. No offense to you, but I think you should stop for a while and think about one only thing:

As you know everyone are very impatient about next Android ICS which is told to merge Gingerbread and Honeycomb. As we all loved honeycomb UI and it's improvements we could not get it on our devices. And now there is coming to our devices, and a lot lot more than only new UI. So that's why Nexus is most interesting now - because it will give us a taste of newest Android performance. This is the first, and main point.

AND - THE SECOND thing is that - Nexus made us more and more excited as it is reeally high-end specified. Now with all this packed goodies it is worth buying. And I tell you - if it was not Nexus, and didn't have an ICS on board you would like to buy Vigor or another specs-similar device, because it will make this handset the same as the other - with it's performance! It will not make any difference!

BUT YOU ARE HERE EVERYDAY - talking, and you can't wait till this is announced because it is really different from the other similar phones - it has ICS, and you know - if you want it with that OS it must be Nexus! If it wasn't you will be not as interested as you are.

Am I righy? ;> Tell me.

Agreed. I think. If you look back on my post, however, you will see that I never said Nexus Prime won't be the first device with ICS. We're all sure it will be. We just don't know if that is what's coming to Verizon. Remember, there are two model numbers floating around. SCH-i515 and GT-i9250. The simple truth is that we have no idea what that means. My gut tells me that one is GSM and one is CDMA. But we just don't know.

And honestly, a lot of people have never played with honeycomb yet. I have, and while it was nice, it wasn't flat out amazing. The icon distribution is just plain stupid. My point is that most of us aren't salivating for ICS because we love love love honeycomb and are pissed pissed pissed that it's not on our phones. We simply want it because it's the latest and freshest (I guarantee you that ICS will be buggier than the latest iteration of Gingerbread, but we don't care, because it's newer!), and because it will supposedly eliminate capacitive buttons, making the overall face of the phone sleeker and more attractive, not to mention allow for a bigger screen.

AND - THE SECOND thing is that - Nexus made us more and more excited as it is reeally high-end specified.

I have no idea where this came from. If you're referring to Nexus always being high-end tech, you're wrong. Nexus S was not as great as other phones that came out during the same time, internals-wise. If you are referring to the fact that the rumored specs of the Prime are awesome, then yes, I agree.

Now with all this packed goodies it is worth buying. And I tell you - if it was not Nexus, and didn't have an ICS on board you would like to buy Vigor or another specs-similar device, because it will make this handset the same as the other - with it's performance! It will not make any difference!

Yes, you are righy about this latest fact. I am here every day, as is Chief, Cereal Killer, etc. We all want the Droid Prime because it allegedly has ICS. And you are righy when you say that if it doesn't have ICS, (and if it doesn't come out by mid November), I'll drop it faster than a hot potato infected with herpes.

I don't get why you're arguing. What am I saying that is so controversial? If the Prime comes out with no ICS and later than November, my money will go to Vigor. I don't get the big deal.

Jungle, do you work for the Prime manufacturer? I see you just joined this site and wondered why you are so adamant about Nexus.

This forum is a great group of people, we like to support each other (and also share juicy gossip!) - no picking fights :)

You're right! Sorry everyone! I'd better lynch my back and go eat some ash! ;-)

Apparently, Droidguy might turn out to be a tad bit more credible than what we originally thought.

Tech Hog posted this yesterday, which I read and fully agreed with:
A Samsung Prime gets a hands on? Not so fast… | TechHog.com

Then today they posted this:

Nexus Prime hands on – It is the real deal and with a Metal Case | TechHog.com

We'll see what droidguy comes up with today. Don't know why he couldn't have posted the whole stupid thing from the beginning.

Still looks very fishy, but if one skeptical guy talked to Droidguy and is now convinced, it makes me at least a little curious.

And if Prime does have a metal chassis, that is good news.

I think this other guy is hallucinating . .he blogs telling us how BS the entire hands-on of this prime was revealed, than says if no ACTUAL NEW info is out, than there is no way we can believe you. . but than he says I talked to him about it, and you guys should believe him. . .AH NO. .In this case I will take the advice in your 1st blog and call BS unless you give information that ONLY a hands-on view would give. .Or these bloggers are trying to hold on to the information and spill it very slowly for attention, and visits to their blogs.

Either way this other guy's blog totally contradict his second posting. In his 1st he says DON'T BELIEVE BECAUSE NO NEW INFO IS OUT. . .But in his 2nd post he says believe it because I TALKED TO HIM. .What a joke.

Either give the new Info, or don't and shut up, or say what the situation is and why you can't leak it right now. .Other than that you're nothing to me

Geez. Bionic looks stupider and stupider by the minute.

And THIS is the NEW pic of the prime supposedly

http://theprimesmartphone.com/images/nexus-prime-new.jpg

Don't hate me, I'm just the messenger, and trying to help the forum

Weird pic. Not a fan of the bright gray trim. Hopefully that's a fake.

Looks thick, too. Really thick. (although that could be the weird angle of the phone)

No offense but no ones logic on this board is faulty. We all have our own way of seeing things and share it with each other.
Don't get trapped in trying to get some of us hard heads to change the way we think.
We like hearing others views. The real prize is seeing who was right in the end.
Your saying his logic is faulty is heard and respected as your opinion but perhaps not agreed with.

We all agree to disagree eh?

I've apologised to all, because I didn't see that everyone on this forum is waiting for this phone from another reason. It was my fault, I thought some peaple don't realize the main point of waiting for it. And it was just my opinion. Huhhuh.

Thejungle, if you don't express your opinion, this thread wouldn't be fun. From you calling me out on my faulty logic to Redraider and Cereal Killer's cat fight, these forums are fun! Keep it up! :D

I am only here because I am interested in Samsungs next big thing.
Verizon passed on the SGSII saying they will release something better.

I am more interested in the hardware of the Samsung Nexus then the OS.
I don,t cares if it has Ginger bread or Ice cream sandwich on it.
Because I will put a differant OS on it just like most others in the phone hacking world.

At this time in the ball game. The SGSII is still the boss.
it has been holding ground for a long time in the real world, but for us here in the states we always get phones at the end of their life cycle.

So the Nexus what ever needs to happen soon, with ICS or without.

I see, me - for a change - is waiting especially for ICS. Maybe it is because I am not planning to buy Prime. I have 16 more months for my next phone, and I'm interested in prime only because of new version of Android. It will give 'a new life' for my SGS :)

Official MOD EDIT: 1000th post!!!! Free Nexus Prime for you!!! :D DING DING DING!
