Official Release Date Rumor Thread

yeah that could be confusing. i meant the epic touch and the infuse.

uh... the screens are the same size. it might even be .02" (big whoop) bigger. why wouldn't you expect it to be as big as the infuse?

Not quite sure what you are asking, but "uh",......

i was hoping since the corners on ET were more rounded than the Infuse that it might just "downsize" the 4.52 form factor jussssst enough to get away with it, but (mind you) this is only MY opinion, the size difference is very noticeable.

Maybe its hardly neglible when measuring between a "THICK" 4.3 phone and a "SLIM" 4.52 slim phone, BUT between a Super SLIM 4.5 and a Super SLIM 4.3 (since there IS a choice : ) there is enough of a difference, to me anyway.....

so i THINK i am saying i went to go see IF i could live with the "bigger sized" phone (becuz its available TODAY, not next week, month or millenium : )but after holding it in my hand and KNOWING the same exact phone/specs will be available soon in a little bit better size, i'd rather *wait*....

and hey, don't think i haven't driven myself crazy, i had the Vibrant for 10 months and loved her to pieces but traded her in for a "fat chick phone" (EVO) cuz Vibrant was too thin and had anorexia... : ) i think the 4.3 on AT&T is the perfect sized, fat as my EVO, but with all of Vibrants guts times 10!

all i'm sayin'....

So many small internet sites still reporting tomorrow as the AT&T launch day....for instance:

Samsung Galaxy S2 Release Date: Available to Sprint and AT&T Users This Weekend, Christian News

Makes me wonder how this date ever got picked up in the first place. I think it originated from the "big event" (ha whatever) a few weeks ago. But I remember seeing a samsung rep state Monday Sept 19th....NOT the 18th.

I guess if this sunday and monday go by, the next rumored date is Oct 2nd, which Mr. Ed's inside man claims it is.

Is there some kind of direct contact address or forum where we can express our opinions to AT&T, b/c they need to hear it on this one.

Maybe the "Christian Post" (source from your link) gets it's information from a source way up above who knows all and sees all.

Everyone saying the 19th is probably taking it from that Samsung guy on one of those videos posted in one of the previous 2000 messages or one of the 500 other websites that pull dates out of their, umm, dark warm place.

I think I'll stick with the MisterEd wannabe :D and look for something other than my words for dinner tomorrow.

You can hit up AT&T on Twitter or Facebook but they will delete your post or answer with a boilerplate reply as they always do because they know as much as anyone else.

(plus that NFC chip has me drooling), i don't care if the technoloogy isn't quite here yet, when it gets here me and my AT&T SGS II will be ready! lol

By the time the NFC chip (if there really is one, or if it is activated since I don't think it has ever been officially announced) is of any use you'll have had 3 other phones and the AT&T SG2 will just be a (hopefully) fond memory. ;)

No, no no Mr Ed say it isn't so (i KNEW there was a reason horses shouldn't talk : ) lol

Seriously, tho, from all i have read about Google Wallet, it was my impression all's i need is a NFC capable phone, a terminal that has NFC technology on it (i've already seen a handful) and ur good... is there MORE to it that that?

If anyone is interested this is the latest rumor on the SGS III

Samsung Galaxy S III
Rounding out the rumor rumble are alleged details on the Galaxy S III. The Samsung rep didn't have a device on-hand, Anonymous says, but he/she did have slides with info. Reportedly set for a debut at MWC 2012 and a worldwide launch in mid-2012, the GSIII is said to feature a 4.65-inch "Super AMOLED III" display with a resolution of 1280x1024 and 352ppi. Other features slated to make it into the Galaxy S III include a 2.0GHz quad-core processor, 32GB storage, 1.5GB RAM, 10-megapixel camera, 1080p video capture at 60fps, 2,250mAh battery, and ICS beneath "TouchWiz 5." This new version of Samsung's skin is supposedly co-developed by Google and is less "intrusive" than previous versions of TouchWiz.

Worlwide launch in mid-2012, available in the US around 2014. Anyway, that only thing that makes my parents' computer (CPU: 1Ghz, 768 MHz RAM, 40 GB HDD) better than that beast is the screen: my parents have a 15' monitor, not sure if it goes 1280x1024.

The infuse is only 99 now! We cant be too far way.

Actually for me it's showing as FREE. It is listed as $199 with a $199 rebate. That definitely is a "coming real soon" sign.

What's also funny is that just yesterday the "retail price" was $550 but today it's $750.

I HIGHLY doubt it....for the life of me I don't understand why you would release the iPhone's Android competitor without letting your employees know.

Especially considering the competition AT&T gets from re-sellers (with MUCH more attractive return policies & prices), why wouldn't you want to get your AT&T sales people information to get out to customers?

I made the rounds at the AT&T / Verizon / T-Mobile stores Friday to see what they knew and the AT&T dude (a different guy than I've dealt with before) didn't know the SGSII was coming. I asked him how long before launches do they typically get a heads up and he said 1-2 weeks.

Best Buy said they were getting the Sprint phones sometime next week....but had no clue on the AT&T version.

A few weeks ago the Infuse went down to $99 at BestBuy and I thought that was the sign then too.....and then it went back up to $199. Lets hope its for real now.

It's also quite possible that poster may never get his supposed shipment. He didn't say it was "shipped" only that it was "scheduled" for Tuesday. Hey, I HOPE he is right, but like you I am skeptical.
