Root [ROM] GB Miui For DX!! (1.9.16.1)

yes since last night, its very nice so far, make sure once its installed, go to tools, superuser, hit your menu button, settings, and enable root.

Thanks man, gonna try it I guess.

You only need to mount system if the mod/Rom doesn't do it in the install script. Most mount it for you, but I always mount system just in case the script doesn't call for mounting system (not all mods require system to be mounted, but some do) this way I don't have to go through all the steps again to install the mod in case the script didn't mount the system :D

I hear you. I got into this habit from the Fission days. Wish he would come back to the DX. :(

Anybody have another link to this? For some reason since miui changed their website format I havnt been able to download any update directly to my phone. I know I can do it on my computer and transfer it to my sd card but I'm away from home alot and it's very convenient to do it with the phone.

you took automatic brightness off?

from what i think is supposed to happen, if its on, it should recognize the time of day, which will then control the back light, it will save you on battery life too.

I had to turn it off. With it on, which is what I want, the screen stays dark. Will not get brighter even if Im in a dark area. Not cool.

EDIT: I disabled Screebl which (may) be the cause. Will troubleshoot some more.

they should work, stevens link takes you straight to roms.miui.us the place where the download is coming from

Yeah it takes me there. But when I click on the Droid x and then on download, nothing happens. It's like the browser starts to recognize it and then stops. No matter what rom I'm running or what browser I use, nada. But it hasn't always been that way. When miui first came out for the x I was able to get the first three or four updates but then they changed their web layout and it's been a nogo ever since?

It didn't like me either... Either download it on your computer, and upload it to your phone via dropbox, or download it straight to your phone with ROM Manager (Rom Manager, download rom, miui.us, 9.19.1 or whatever it is)... Easy peasy.

I'm on FroYo MIUI, can someone who was on both let me know if its worth upgrading to this. Thanks

I'd upgrade just to get the updated radio at least. With miui and cm7 both on gb, there's no longer any need to be on froyo. Additionally, we have sbf and 1 click root on gb. Froyo is kinda a dead and done deal.

I'm on the latest Apex, so I'd want to SBF to 602 before installing this, correct?

You don't have to, just wipe data and cache; if it was me I would format system and don't forget to mount system after formatting it before applying this new Rom.

I'm not sure if the installation process formats system for you as I have not installed it.
