A few days ago i rooted both of my sister's Epics, and delivered better battery life, and a faster phone, which is great, but one problem still remains. The Phones are almost completely unable to make calls in the house. Does the Epic have any alternative radios that people have seen giving a better signal than the stock Radio?

also, Just a note-They're on syndicate Frozen rom with Twilight Zone Kernel, and they went from their phone dying mid day to finishing the day at about 35% Battery life, and have only seen minor bugs. great Rom/Kernel combo.

The signal strength would be more of a hardware issue, so I don't think there is much you can do.

One think to note, since you did root the phone, the signal will be better represented than on a stock rom, since it will now display 1X and 3G.

One thing you could do is update the PRL, and see if that helps your signal. Beyond that, you will probably have to look at a repeater or similar.

Have you tried calling Sprint and asking them for the Airave. Since your issue is in the house it would work out great. They might try to ask you to pay for it but politely refuse. They will give you the unit for free and waive the monthly fee if you need to push them. Make sure you get the newest one which is not the Samsung one. Actually I don't think they hand out the old one anymore. Anyway, I have one because I would get 1-2 bars. With the Airave I get full bars plus great wi-fi. Remember, do not let them charge you for the unit or the monthly fee's. Hope this helps, I couldn't live without it.

P.S. I'm not rooted so I don't know if it will make a difference. Being that it should be a hardware issue I would think it would help to have the Airave. It definitely wouldn't hurt to have it. Anyone on Sprint in the house will benefit from the Airave.
