How much data have you used?

How much data do you use on an average month on your Evo?

I am new to Android. The only thing I basically use my current (Blackberry) phone for is email and web surfing. My average usage has been about 30 MB. I am being told that this same usage will take up about 100-150 MB's of data usage per month on an Android smartphone. Would that be correct? I do not plan to stream movies or music. Thanks all.

most other phone browsers.. when on internet see the MOBILE safe version of the website. it is very low in graphics and extra info. so that the site will load faster and not eat data.

android (and some other smartphones) will see the full website.

it is easy to eat a lot of data. good thing i have unlimited data.
i can do anywhere from 1.5GB to 8GB a month. depending on my need and want.

there are apps on the market that help you track and count your usage.. free apps.

let me ask this is, is the 10$ extra fee justified as far as usage is concerned? The hard line cap is usually 5gb right for most Co.? I mean there was no cap for us who payed for a data plan...

just pay the $10... and forget about it.. it aint nothing you can do about it.
think it as part of the smartphone plan.
like iphone
like the blackberry curve.

I started with sprint 6-23-10 (last year). Since then my average per month data usage is 524935 mb (about half a gig). And I consider myself a heavy user, but I do not stream pandora, music of any kind, or movies. I do use my wifi when at home and my parents house, that saves me some data usage. All in all I probably do about a gig a month all together, but that would be a guess since the phone doesn't actually keep up with usage.

I noticed that in the last month or so - online - SPCS has split the 4G data & 3G data.

With 4G eating up my usage @ a 4-1 ratio over 3G.

I swear I don't use 4G that much!
If anything, it's almost reverse IMO.

My standard usage is 4G @ work between 9-5 - streaming Google Music & some pr0n ;)
Wifi on @ home between 5-12 but not really using it since the laptop is there.
& anytime on the go, it's 3G.
I have a sneaking suspicion, SPCS counts the 4G meter differently?

^^^ what? you are being sarcastic.. right?

Actually , no. Here is why:

Prior to last month, my online bill showed data as a total & not broken out between 3G & 4G.

& Total data never climb past 600mb.

Now that I noticed 4G broken out, it shows 4G being 1.5gb & 3G around 400mb. My usage habits has not changed month over month.

So, I asked the question about how 4G was being counted.
