Official Release Date Rumor Thread

It's going to be torture watching all of you talk about your GS2's while I wait for Otterbox to release a Commuter series for it... Don't trust the other cases, and I'd drop it a good 11 times before getting anything on it. Oh well, that's the price I pay for having butter fingers :(

Don't they already have a case for it? It looks like the AT&T variant is the same size as the European model. It looks like the European GS2 cases should work for the AT&T GS2.

I bought a cheap ($5 shipped) flexible case off Amazon (intended for the original i9100 version). It looked like the difference between the original and AT&T version was a few tenths of a millimeter on two dimensions. I figure a flexible case can conform to any differences. It will tie me over until there is more selection for the AT&T version.

Thanks for the link!

Now I am facing the dilemma of where do I buy. I am currently grandfathered into an unlimited plan and I don't want to lose it. So if say Walmart has a sale on this will getting it from them screw up my plan? Do I haft to get it through the AT&T store to keep my unlimited plan?
happy to share.

when you go buy it just be sure to tell them you don't want to change your plan. then when you get home check and make sure you still have unlimited data. if you don't, call 611 and explain what happened and they put it back on.

Dumb question. Do you have to be a Costco member to access their mobile booth/kiosk/whatever?

yup. like sams you have to have one to get in the door. i'm currently looking for friends/family in the atl area with a membership that will go up there with me.

Having purchased phones through both Costco and Amazon within the last couple of months I can tell you the plans are exactly the same as offered by straight through AT&T. There is NO difference.
True, they all sell the same plans however last time I was shopping some did not offer the cheapest individual plan like the $39.99 450 minute plan (I believe it was either Letstalk and/or Wirefly) however Costco and Amazon do. Not sure on the family plans.

Unless it has changed, a while back I was able to purchase (and return) the original Sprint Evo from SAMS without being a member. You can also purchase from their VISION and possibly even the Pharmacy because these are "lease" departments. When you get to the door just tell them you need to go to the mobile Kiosk.

You can go to the service desk and ask them if they offer a 1 days shopping pass so you can "check them out." SAMs and Costco have both offered "check us out" passes at various times of the year.

Costco will also give you a full refund on your membership at any time (big sign up on the wall) so simply sign up and a week or 2 or 8 later just cancel.
