Root Rooted Droid 3 and now cant activate

First of all let me say that I am not a programmer by any means so I would greatly apprecciate a watered down reply with a thorough explenation.

So I rooted my droid 3 and I incidentally deleted a system app. Aftereard I could not access my contact list. I had the brilliant idea to do a factory reset and now I cant get past the activation screen. When I hit the android icon, I get the message: The application my accounts (process com motorola setup has stopped unexpectedly. I have been told that I could use a droid 3 sbf to flash the system app back on the phone but I am not exactly sure what that is or how to use it.

As I said before, I am not very savvy at all when it comes to programming but I am very teachable.

I apprecciate all replies.

Oooooh bad idea doing a factory reset with system apks missing.

IIRC, you can skip the activation. Do that, re-root if necessary, download the missing system apks (someone uploaded them somewhere, hopefully someone can find a link to them) and replace them, THEN do a factory reset. In theory this should work.

If that's wrong, someone please correct me.

activation cannot be bypassed. When I hit the android icon, I get the error message.

I would definitely say SBF, but I don't have a Droid 3 to give you step by step instructions on how to do so. I am going to move this to the all things root section so hopefully you get some help and get your phone fixed.

I belive if you check the sticky for the "ultimate root guide" and look for the "unbricking/sbfing" section i belive, itll give you links to an XDA post on how to do it. If you dont wana do that, get the apks.

To bypass activation, try this.
How to bypass activation on Droid X2

I can guarantee it will work, or that you can fix it the way I said, just a suggestions.

I agree with SBF,
Go look over at xda-developers Droid 3 development forum [Recovery] RSD v5.5.0 and 5.5.184 (aka 5.6.890) fastboot partitions/flashable zip - xda-developers . for files
then;
1. Extract the sbf zip with the xml and partitions put them in a folder named XT862..extract the moto fastboot zip files and put them in this file folder as well. If you dont, the process will not work.
2. Turn your phone on, Hold both Volume buttons while turning on press Vol - until you get to AP Fastboot then press Vol +
3.Plug the phone to your computer by usb while in AP fastboot mode
4. Open RSD lite and select the phone, and the file to flash is inside the XT862 folder you just made, Select the XML file, i believe it will be the only file you can select out of that folder in RSD.
5.Click START

Ok so I extracted all of the files to the xt862 folder and none of the files can be selected with rsdlite. Am I missing something here? It seems like flashing the sbf file to a droid 3 is a different process than the droid x. Can someone please break it down for me?
