After playing around with the A500 with the 3.2 update, I have some commonplace observations...
First, I was surprised to find that my rather old (at least 3 yrs) Seagate external drive - ntfs - was read by the tab. But a HDD from an old (2 yrs) laptop which I put in a case did not. I have a new WD HDD (500GB) which I am gonna test 2morrow. It would be really cool if this actually works.
Second, I thought that the 3.2 update would help with increasing the strength of wifi reception - perhaps wrongly. I see no difference...if anything, its slightly worse.
Flipping through screens remains smooth - I notice no difference between this latest update and 3.1.
I still don't have a SD card, so have not been able to test what improvements have occurred. High to e I got one. Only problem is that I want a 32GB card and not the more common (in my current neck of the woods) 4 and 8 GB versions.
I believe rooting is not yet possible, but expected sometime soon. So trying new roms is out of the picture for the moment.
Keyboard feels a bit laggy....but then it always did on this and a few other forums that I haunt. I am gonna test this some more.
All in all, there is nothing really to write home about with this update...but then that was to be expected.
The next big question that I have is whether ICS will work on the A500. Somehow, I suspect that Acer will not allow it. They will launch their next generation of the Iconia - whatever it may be named in the future - with ICS, which will be a real pity because I would like to use my tab for at least two years or so...but....!
