I think I'm noticing a bit more battery drain but it's hard to tell so far. On a somewhat related note I was wondering if you guys had any ideas for how to deal with poor cell reception?

My lecture halls/classrooms seem to be damn Farady cages and it really kills my battery. I don't want to turn on airplane mode as I still can receive SMS. Turning off mobile data doesn't help either. Would dropping the phone to 2G or equivalent work?

Were they slower to switch with the previous radio?
Thanks,
Bryan

They were horrible previously. They would drop signal while phone was off and then 4G would lag and eat your battery while it tried and failed to connect back and leave you on 3g or 1x till you turned off your net connection, did the airplane mode thing or rebooted. Quite the pain in the ass really.

how can i check my phone to see if i flashed radio properly? I followed instructions in link but I dont think it worked properly. Directions say it will take a couple minutes, but it didn't for me. It was instant when i rebooted. Can I go into my phone to see what radio I now have?

also, i thought when putting on sd the code is PG05IMG, or is it supposed to be PG05IMG.zip?

Menu > settings > about phone > software information > more > baseband version

Compare your baseband version with what is posted here.

Flashed and so far so good. 3G and 4G both connect up properly and everything seems normal.

Just FYI for the radios thread:
CDMA: 1.48.00.0906w
LTE: 0.01.78.0906w_2

nope my baseband versions are:

1.39.00.0627r
0.0169.0625r

So its not correct. When flashing do i put file on sd as PG05IMG or PG05IMG.zip? I put it as PG05IMG.zip and it doesnt seem to have autodetected it in hboot

Just rename PG05IMG
Do not put the .zip
and make sure it's PG zero 5
not PG Cap O 5

Just flashed and have to agree the Radio does seem to be quite a bit improved.
Thank you sir. I knew that was my issue. I didn't put .zip when i previously flashed radio but it asked for it in the directions.
Follow the directions in the OP...>.>

I did and thats my problem. It says .zip in the directions.

Would you brick your phone if you rooted the revolutionary way and flashed the leaked RUU? Also would it in return restore your phone to stock instead of having to do a lengthy unroot

no,thats the wonderful thing about revolutionary. :) you can now flash literally whatever you want and your hard-patched permanent s-off hboot will remain.

if you want to be "stock"(and get the ota) then flash an mr2 ruu or PG05IMG. dont flash a recovery after and youll be able to recieve the OTA.

everything after flashing the ruu will be stock, with exception of the s-off hboot, wich is harder to remove, for good reason. id strongly advise NOT to try and remove it unless absolutely neccessary, for returning for warranty purposes.
