Just got my 6th referb TB today.. Every phone a new problem , from camera not working, nothing above 1G, screen freeze, buttons not working, no data connection at all etc etc .. Put the old sim card in and screen un responsive...To those who lucked out and got a good one cheers! To those of us stuck in the certified referb loop keeps our heads up we will get a good one someday.. They need to throw away the returns and stop sending them back out to us. A nice piece of plasic on the screen doesnt make it "like new". Find out what the problem WAS than fix it test it and than certify it. I think most of the time the techs dont know what the problems were and test a few things put it back in circulation. Cant wait for the Vigor or Prime I hate the HTC Thunderbolt. So done with it. Is this phone the worst HTC phone made?

Me when I had my Eris
"can't wait for the Droid 2. Sick of this stupid phone giving me shit"

Me when I had my Droid 2
"Can't wait until the thunderbolt. My Droid is so laggy, battery life sucks and problem after problem with radios and camera. The bolt will fix all that"

Me now after having my bolt for the past few months "i wouldn't want any other phone right now. Loving the crap out of it"

Enjoy your prime or vigor or whatever you choose to upgrade to. But understand going into it that every phone has its issues and the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Just ask all those defectors that upgraded from their bolts to the bionic only to have screen issues, call quality issues and the "on call hiss" bug.

Hope you're at least getting a free upgrade out of all this trouble you've been through

Id blame the operator. HTC doesn't make the ultimate smartphone, but nobody has yet. They do a decent job other than being timely with updates. I just find it extremely hard to believe it took 6 phones. People don't try to find fixes before they blame HTC or Verizon for their own tech misunderstandings.

Sometimes things happen like this in an imperfect world. This phone has a few issues out of so many units made. The echo I have got with every cell phone and smartphone ever owned. Sometimes depending on your location the network isn't always perfect. Broken power button or not so perfect springs under the button? Screen seperation or light seepage? Mine has light seepage at bottom....I'd be a liar if I said the screen seperated though. Light seepage isn't cool, but not going to messy up my day. Keep the phone who cares about tiny light seepage? Doesn't effect anything besides flaring up a case of OCD....

Broken power button as in phone wouldn't turn on out of the box... i deal with a recessed one, I feel privileged. I didn't say light seepage, I feel privileged again to only have light seepeage.... I'm talkin sides of the screen unglued from the case, can move the side of the case about a half centimeter... Echo on the speaker so bad people thought their phone had a problem everytime i used it... new one has no issues... No quality control. I didn't even touch reboots.... I love the capability of this phone but i have no faith in it being their for me, random battery drains, inconsistent reception....kinda like I meant what I said originally you could say.

It is a very good phone. Can handle just about any software avalable right now. refurbished tbolts are horible. If you buy a brand new one good chance your experience may be phenomenal. I loved mine, and plan on buying a vigor when it is released. Htc just has good phones. Ever now and then their are issuies though. Htc and samsung are probabbly the best android makers. Motorola needs to learn what a good screen can do for the whole experience.

Mine is great and I don't see myself buying a new phone for a long while. Like others have mentioned, I about returned the phone when all the randon reboots were happening. That was NOT okay. Mine wasn't even rebooting, it would just turn off. But that isn't happening anymore.

If I had to go through 6 refurbished units then I'd be wondering the same thing as you.

I love my Thunderbolt. I loved my Incredible, i thought it was the best phone on the planet. I just wanted a bigger screen when i saw the Evo. Once the Thunderbolt came out i needed it and i got it. I have loved it since i got it. I didnt even have the reboot issues everyone was having. The only issue i had and still have today is when on speaker phone, people on the other end can barely hear me. i can hear them fine but unless my mouth is right next to the speaker, people can barely hear me. To solve this i bought a headset with a mic. Other than that this has been the best phone i could ask for. Am i going to buy the Vigor? Hell yes. But its not because i dont love this phone, its because im caught in the cycle of wanting the next big thing. Do i need an HD 720p screen and a dual core processor? Nope. Do i want them badly? Hell yes.

All in all, i have been extremely happy with this phone. I liked the Bionic on paper but to me it didnt deliver. The Vigor and Prime are really going to be Verizon's best phones for a while. That is until quad core phones come out and that to me is ridiculous but if i say ill be happy with the Vigor or the Prime for a year i would probably be lying because i have had the Tbolt since about 2 weeks after the launch date and i didnt think i would upgrade for another 2 years....so take it as you may. The Tbolt is an amazing piece of tech.

The title of this topic pretty much I read as "The poster of this topic has done LITTLE TO NO RESEARCH about the phone he is talking junk about."

Maybe you've just been that unlucky or are really exaggerating, but I would not trade my Thunderbolt for any phone currently on the market. It literally is my bread and butter. I would say it's HTC's best phone that I've ever used or even just played with. There is nothing I would changed about this phone.

Still on mt first phone and never got a problem except for the random reboots but now is fixed and love it to death. Even I get an upgrade in December since I got the 1 year contract, I'll wait for something that can be a really good media phone since the thunderbolt speakers are loud compared with other phones and that's what I love the most of my bolt.

dead pixels, speakerphone echo only on one, seperated screens, broken power buttons out of the box... I went thru 4 new ones. Definitely user error

It definitely says on the box "Not to be used as a Hockey Puck"

I was one of the ones who waited for you monkeys (respectfully) to pound a million keys and get the bugs worked out. Now I have a phone I can see going the same distance my Eris did at 2 years.

The Miami Heat of phones

haha, that's sort of what I was thinking, but also the Dallas Cowboys of phones from last year...(Tony Romo predicting he'd see everyone at the superbowl and what not....)

On paper they all look great, but in real world use, they falter and don't live up to the hype. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy my TB, but when they hyped it as "not your dream phone, the one after that" I'd say they fell shy of the bulls eye.

Lol also good. Thunderbolt is the phone I expected from HTC after my dinc, but yeah, nothing back to the futureish they billed it to be.
