Isn't the SGS2 HD/+ the same as the Celox (AT&T only)?

I don't believe its the same device, from what I have seen the Celox has a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 800x480 screen resolution. It is also expected that the smartphone will be powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8060 processor.

The Screen is not HD and the processor is not in the same category as the TI OMAP or Exynos processors that have been rumored to being considered for the Nexus devices.

I think I would much rather have a 1.5ghz exynos + mali 400 over omap4460 + sgx540

me, too

but i think Omap 4470 + SGX544 would be a little bit better than exynos + mali...

also i'm still dreaming about the tegra 3 (kal-el)...

kal-el is supposed to come out this fall but only in tablets...

but one question? what exactly is the difference between a tablet-Soc and a smartphone-soc? (also 4,65" is not just a smartphone, rather a superphone :D)

so what's the problem with using an Tegra 3-Tab-Soc in the NExus Prime?

Remember the Tegra 3 was mentioned in the first rumours, and also the CEO's and those other 'important' people are able to lie, too :D

but back to topic, i guess i'd be happy with an exynos-soc or maybe an omap 4470, yeah i know im really modest, am i not?

amazing news, but still no information about the hardware, and no official announcement of a new nexus device... everything just software-news

don't missunderstand me, those news are great, but i'd like to have some official statement about the nexus (prime)... still rumours only

also don't really know if i can trust this guy, is he telling the truth? is he a relyable source?

It's really nothing new. Everything on that list, aside from maybe the keyboard, was announced at Google I/O back in May. I should know, I was there. It is nice to have it all compiled into a simple list though, and it is a good reminder of all the Ice Cream Sandwich goodness that's on it's way.

It hasn't really been Google's style to have Nexus phones announced by anyone other than Google, so I don't expect it to be announced or even to appear at CTIA. However, that doesn't mean that we won't see a new Verizon flagship device made by Samsung unveiled. I'm comforted by the announcement of the GSII HD because that confirms the existence of the 4.65" HD screen that we've been lusting after. I'd say this is a sign of good things to come.

I doubt it. At 4.65", HD screen has about 316 ppi which is close to Retina display pixel density. Also pentile Super AMOLED looks better than pentile LCD on Moto phones at similar resolution.

That's my guess. My eyes aren't that great so the Pentile on moto phones only bothers me slightly. Thus, I'm guessing I won't be able to tell at this high of pixel density.

After having owned an iPhone 4, I can say that you definitely can see the PPI increase over 480x800 screens so I expect this screen to be the best out there.

Now I'm just trying to decide if this will be my next phone, if I'm going to get a Vigor (doubtful) or I'm headed back over to the iOS camp with iPhone 5 (only if it has that rumored 4" screen).

All I know is that my Inspire 4G is looking long in the tooth.

The density on the Motorola qHD pentiles is in the low 200s. And even then, you have to look at a 400% zoom to see the subpixels. A jump to the 300s should make that almost indistinguishable, on par with the iPhone Retina display, but with around 35% more screen area..

Retina display is basically anything above 300 ppi from a distance of 12 inches.

So, theoretically, whether it’s 316 ppi or 326 ppi (iPhone’s display density), there won’t be a perceivable difference. HD on 4.65" screen real estate is going to be sweet indeed.

Am I the only one who's just a little queasy about being the first to ICS?

Yep. ;)

I figure I've got 14 days to test drive it, put it through its paces and try to get used to it; if I can't bring myself to like it (not good, since all future devices will be moving to it), then I can always take it back and, uh, downgrade a bit.

I'm definately wary of ICS. That's the main reason I'm going for the Vigor/Incredible HD whatever it's called. The first new OS has to have bugs. But that being said, I'm sure I'd be just as happy with the Prime/Nexus whatever whichever it is. As Chief said, there's two we're talking about, right? Or not? Who knows, lol. It's gonna be SOO awesome,it can't all fit in ONE PHONE! So it MORPHED into TWO and is coming out at TWO seperate times!! :p But yea, going with the Vigor probably...both phones gonna be duking it out for top dog I'd say....

Does it really matter if it comes with a bloated version of ICS? If your monitoring this thread waiting for this phone to come out, chances are your the type of person that won't run the stock rom, so who cares? If this device doesn't get castrated or passed on by verizon, the Devs will work wonders with it.
