Up until now, i've been straight gmail. Gmail address, gmail app. Perfect. Goes hand in hand. But i needed to get my xbox notifications at my hotmail address so i gave the htc mail app a try. Pretty cool for all of the 10 minutes i've used it. Loads entire messages + pictures without me having to click "show picture" at the top and pinch to zoom works.

Problem for me? For some reason, i can't use it. I just opened it to refresh the messages and an error message popped up saying something to the effect "too many logins in a 15 minute period for pop3 server". And it won't load my html messages. What....the...

The Htc mail app is the only mail app I use on the thunderbolt. I no longer use the gmail app. Hard-Reset your phone. I don't know what to tell you on that crazy error message you're getting...the hard reset is the best answer. I hard reset my phone once a month or so..it almost cleans the phone like defrags it and gets everything right.

Advanced task killer is a must..use web pages favorites them and add to home screen instead of using apps. Only use apps that are must haves. Swype is one of them.

As you say you're already wedded to Gmail, go to the desktop site and add your Hotmail account via Accounts & Imports in Gmail Settings. Now you'll get your Xbox notifications forwarded to your Gmail account. :)

Dont use task killers. and there is a reason apps are made. they use less data and are usually MUCH faster than going through a browser all while giving you the information you need.

I use my stock email app, + Gmail app for the Gmail account. I have 3 email addresses in my stock app, never have a problem. You can have combined inbox, with color codings for each account, or look at the individual account itself. I set mine to check every hour, by default it is every 15 minutes. Haven't had any problems with it...
