About the drivers....
You could try this, it has worked for me in the past, but from what you have said, there's a chance this may not work, wont hurt to try it tho...
First of all, switch on your X10 and connect it via USB to your computer!
Now follow the instructions below for the OS you have...
FOR WINDOWS XP
- Click on Start and then Control Panel.
- Click on the Performance and Maintenance link.
Note: If you're viewing the Classic View of Control Panel, you won't see this link. Simple double-click on the System icon and proceed to Step 4.
- In the Performance and Maintenance window, click on the System icon near the bottom of the window.
- In the System Properties window, click on the Hardware tab.
- With the Hardware tab selected, click on the Device Manager button.
FOR WINDOWS VISTA & WINDOWS 7
- Click Start
- Type device manager then press enter
When you have device manager up, look for an icon like this
If you see one right click on it and uninstall. When it is removed, disconnect the X10, wait 10 seconds and re-connect.
If you do not see the icon, look for
SEMC Mass Storage USB Device under
disk drives.
If
SEMC Mass Storage USB Deviceisn't there, and there was no yellow icon, then the phone
is faulty, or you could wriggle the mini usb end about to see if it connects
Sorry if I was no help, but that's the best I can do to help
