I have the htc thunderbolt. I know they got a year warranty or I think anyway. What happens if the phone fails after warranty?? but you have insurance on the phone. How to go about that?

Will this phone last a full two years? Depending on heavy use? Some people don't use the phone they have much so they last forever. I have swype keyboard, I play alot of music, use sound recorder, video camera, the light on camera. Will these things wear phone out quicker?

You would contact the insurance company and make a claim. Phone insurance is the same as any other type.

Nothing is absolute, but two years of use is pretty normal. There are plenty of devices older than two years still working perfectly, and HTC build quality tends to be good.

the only thing about the phone that might not last the full 2 years is the battery. if you are a heavy user that charges your phone multiple times a day, you will most likely need a new battery at about the 18 month mark. replacement batteries can be bought for less than $10 on e-bay and less than $20 most everywhere else online.

the thunderbolt has a gorillaglass screen, which makes the screen much more durable and resistant to scratches and breakage. as long as you don't physically abuse your phone too much, it should have no problem lasting 2 years. 4 years doesn't even seem out of the question. i know people with the OG droid and their phones show no signs of dying. my last phone had a much lower build quality than my t-bolt and it lasted 3 1/2 years before giving up. the touch screen was the older style pressure responsive screen that over time, got less and less accurate to the point where the only way to operate the phone successfully was with a stylus.
