I hope Verizon will....

Just wanted to give everybody a heads-up. I installed the steinheil oleophobic (I used the bathroom shower method...worked great) and I can't even tell it's on. With the beveled edge of the phone it is kind of difficult to line up correctly.

The heads-up is that the proximity sensor no longer works with the protector. If you're on a call and you remove the phone from your face the screen stays off. You have to push the power button for the screen to turn back on. Because I was pissed, I took off the protector and the sensor works again. I sent an email to steinheil about this, I recommended that they needed a cut-out on the protector for the sensor. I'll let you know if I get a response back.

Hey, while you're waiting... exacto knife it up. Make a hole yourself! :D

What's the point of adding a screen protector, when you already have Gorilla Glass?

I cannot wear a belt holster so she must be carried in my pocket. With keys, loose change and who knows what I also crawl and roll in the woods, under cars, lean at will on objects under my full weight.
I'm surprised the DROID has stood the test let alone the screen. I use Steinheil Crystal film and have had to replace it a few times and for the most part cannot tell its there until I start wearing holes in it and it still works.

Maybe the DROID has GG I don't know but I'm not gonna test her.

In addition to what gapi posted, I have co-workers and friends who still keep their phones in their handbag or purse, along with keys and change, etc (slobs! :D).

Gorilla Glass is very resistant to scratching, but not immune to it as they've discovered. The screen films take care of that.

My phone stays in my right pocket at all times, I keep it completely empty for my phone. All my change, keys, and money and whatever else all goes into my left pocket. I was worried about not having a screen protector on my Bionic but I feel pretty confident in not having to worry about it anymore. I do however need to look into getting a case.

On a side note, you can get creative and use quite an array of "temporary substitutes" while you wait for an official screen protector. These include, but are not limited to:

Ceran wrap
Another phone's screen protector (believe it or not, iphone 4 protectors fit almost perfectly)
Packing tape (one guy did this on youtube...?)
Clear nail polish (again, another youtube uhh... I don't recommend trying)
Clear vinyl (had for $1/sq. meter at Wal-Mart, just cut a rectangle and apply it like invisible shield, voila! I have personally done this ~5 times)
I think I read someone using actual clear coat for a car

Really, if you can think of something, then chances are it's possible, although some aren't very smart. But hey! It's your phone, do what you want :) I'm currently using an extra TBolt protector I had and it covers everything up to the Motorola logo (too short) and it's been great! I also tried an iphone 4 protector I had lying around for a couple days and it fit very well, but people kept saying "dirr you wish you had an iphone harr harr."

If you never want to be without a screen protector agian, I recommend going on ebay and bidding on 50 $.01 screen protector auctions with free shipping. I now have a lifetime supply of iphone, blackberry, and TBolt covers for less than a buck ;)

Also, the clear vinyl method I mentioned above works wonders, believe it or not! I bought a square meter of the stuff at wally world for $1 after tax and I've used it on my phone, laptops, and even a small table with much to spare. If you want I'll make a vid on how to do it, I wish everyone knew how simple it was! :D

You should change your handle to MAcGyver. :)http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&sa=X&ei=3FGDTurBI465tgeXhuDWAQ&ved=0CCMQvwUoAQ&q=MAcGyver&spell=1

You are so right, Frisco!
While gorilla glass keeps the phone's screen from getting deep scratches, it will still get those surface cosmetic scratches, if you put a naked screen in your purse or pocket with other items. There is no such thing as scratchproof glass, and untill there is, I will always use a screen protector.

Well, SGP finally released the Ultra Crystal protectors, but there is a little problem.
The protector interferes with the proximity sensor on the face of the phone. When I place or answer a phone call, the screen shuts off like its by my face, as soon as the call connects. I have to manually turn the screen on to hang up the call.
I already emailed SGP about the issue too, they will most likely revise the protector a little and make a little cutout for the sensors.
