Hi all,
I've had my phone for almost a year now. I'm just getting to the point where I'm about to throw it against the wall because there are so many bugs and I'm hoping to get help here before I give up.

I have two main problems, one of which is that I am unable to connect my phone to my PC through (several unsuccessful) attempts at loading the software from Samsung or through Kies. Here are some examples:

I am trying to get some of the videos and pictures off my phone. When I plug the usb cable to the PC (Win 7 OS) I get an error message that the device is not found.
So let me try Kies: I can connect to Kies through 1) media player 2)Samsung Kies 3)mass storage

No matter which selection I try there are no files to synch (kies doesn't do anything).

Where am I starting my operator error? :)

I had a similar problem after i updated through kies couldn't for the life of me get my phone to connect through the computer cable I tried turning on debugging, rebooting, installing, uninstalling etc.... I turned on my mobile ap with it connected and viola it installed some extra drivers and works fine.... Hope maybe that helps...

All the above are true, and yet there is a small tricky steps that stumbles every one. But generally here is how it goes

- Install USB drivers from samsung.com/us/support
- Install Kies Mini
- Restart PC
- Check to see if USB drivers work by connecting device to PC. You shd see a confirmation balloon at the bottom saying hardware is installed.
- Get device to debugging mode. (Settings > applications > usb debugging(turn on)
- Unplug the device

Here it is.
- Power off device
- Hold the volume up and down button
- Insert the cable while doing the above
Device should say .."Downloading mode.."

This is where updates happen. Takes 10-15 mts. Let us know your results. All the best
