Help Two questions...new to Epic4G

Not sure if anyone can help me but I was in the sprint store looking at this phone...noticed two things.

1-I noticed that the demo phone when turned on...give you a ring that you can drag things like message or photo's into and it will automatically take you into that feature. I've seen similar on HTC EVO3d phones...am I crazy or can this phone not do that. I'm confused because I SWEAR the demo unit did this.

2-the demo unit fonts were pretty...not the stock I have. Is there a place to change the fonts?

You have multiple fonts already loaded on the phone.

To change the font: Settings > Display > Screen Display > Font Style

I installed some additional fonts I found on Android Market: Clean FlipFont MegaPack Galaxy. My favorite font in that pack is "Sansational"

Is there a way to change the lock screen when first getting into the phone. Right now I have the lock patter but is there any way to...

1-change the duration at which the screen locks? Right now it's making me enter the patter every time the screen goes off...I'd like to lock it if not in use in 30 minutes or more otherwise just go in...or what I saw in the store. The demo unit had this ring that I could drag to unlock or I could drop for instance the camera into it and it would get me right into the camera or messaging.

Yes - what you want is an app called "WidgetLocker". Here you go:

The ring lockscreen you are referring to is a feature of the EVO 3D, not the Epic Touch.

There is a program called Agile Lock that you can get from the Android Marketplace. It is very similar to to the lockscreen on the Evo 3D.

The beauty of Android. If your phone can't do it, there's a app that will. Download Magic Locker, it is my new favorite lock screen because of all the choices you can get. Then download the themes you want, if you want the ring like HTC Sense uses in 3.0 and 3.5 then download their Sense theme. It doesn't have all the options like widget locker and you can't add widgets or change things on the lock screen, but, I love all the themes.

This is the app someone probably had on the demo unit you played with.

Like I was saying....WidgetLocker has that - not exactly but you can customize this rotary dialer with any shortcut you want to unlock the phone

Widget locker does not have the sense 3.0 or 3.5 ring. What you posted is just a rotary screen. You need magic locker and their sense theme. Follow the link, for some reason it will not let me post the pic.

Cool thanks. I love the fact that anything is possible with all these options out there ...and you don't even have to root to get this level of customizability

really cool thing. but it looks like you can't customize the 4 shortcuts when you turn the phone on according to the comments of the app. kind of a bummer.....

My only knock on this app is it does not allow you to customize options. However, it might just pull down the 4 main ones from your Epic. But, it doesn't bother me because it's the main ones I use.
