Yeah it's weird. You should see how short the cable is that came with the Galaxy Tab 10.1. I think it's even shorter. This can't be where Samsung is cutting costs LOL
A lot of phone manufacturers have been doing this lately, I would LOVE to know the reasoning behind it?? Oh well... good thing Sprint let me keep my charger from my EVO 3d
I did the same thing - never used the charger that came with it but I noticed that it charged very slowly. My old Blackberry Bold 9650 charger I was using on it has an output of 650mA. The included ET4G has an output of 1Amp... (1000mA) so I'd definitlely recommend finding a longer USB cable to plug into it vs. using an older charger.

Yeah, you're not alone. The Photon also comes with an abnormally short charging cable. Thankfully I still have my old Evo charger which works fine and is plenty long. Seems HTC at least still has decent cable lengths.

Hmm. All the cable I have ever used do both. And they do it cheap.
For instance, here is a 6-foot, gold-plated connector ferrite core micro USB cable for $1.40. These cable would cost Samsung about $.50. If this is too expensive for Samsung, then they really must be going for the bottom line at the expense of customer satisfaction.
