Root Rooting Failed?

I was trying to root through this guide [Guide] Root 2.2.1 and get Data WORKING!!! - Android Forums
But as the phone was upgrading I get an error and it failed. I hit ok on the error and LGNPST went into Emergency mode. And my phone was stuck on S/W Upgrade Do Not Unplugged. so I restarted the phone and wnet into Settings-About Phone-Status and my phone number is Unknown, MIN unknown, MEID HEX unknown, MEID DEC Unknown etc.

Is there a program that can help me get this information back?

im going to have to sit down and make a video tutorial of how to do this. with all the people that are bricking their phones.. and the fact that the information to restore it is in a few differant places.. it should all be put in one place in one thread so that when you hit the wall where another guide is needed to continuem you dont have to stop and search to find it.

unknown means 0ed out bro.. do this.. on yourr phone, go to Settings> About Phone> Status check your MEID,, if it says a few numbers followed by a bunch of 0's ur zerod out. something like 268435460000000000... u need to take the abttery out.. get the MEID off your phone, go to meidconverter.net, input it.. get ur ESN HEX and MEID HEX and SPC code, then download and install QPST and QXDM, then follow the directions in the above mentioned post, then call Metro to get your MIN, so u can reprogram your phone to make it work

I see alot of people still doing this on the opt m. is there a way to possibly change the title of that thread to say OUT of DATE or something. So many people bricking their phones.

Thats how I had to root my phone. The guide works just fine if you read and follow directions...

Oh i hear ya. I also had to root my phone with that method. But there are easier ways to do it now with less headache/brick chances is all i was getting at. I personally no longer use that method when i need to root someones Opt M. Seems everyone here in South Florida has one lol.
