Help $30 unlimited mobile hotspot?

Talked to a rep Friday. He had no clue about it. I stayed in the phone for almost 15 minutes on hold. Any clue as to what to specifically ask for so the reps can find it? I would like to get rid of my (not so) broadband home service. I just hate to loose the email addresses we have had for too many years.

I did this last week. I went to the store and asked to have tethering added. I already had the unlimited data plan for the phone and just upgraded to a Droid Charge last week. The only option that came up was $30. I asked if it was unlimited and the guy initially said, no, there's no unlimited option. Then he kept reading about it, but he was still confused. So I just went with it (since you can cancel whenever you want).

Then I called customer service to ask what service I had. He initially said it's the 2GB option (but that wouldn't cost $30, right?). So he ended up calling someone else to ask and confirmed that I have unlimited tethering. Anyway, I think this is the only option right now for mobile hotspot for someone who already has the unlimited data plan.

Loving the mobile hotspot. I had my Roku go through my Charge today and stream an HD stream from Netflix through my Roku to my TV and through a 43 minute show I saw 2 minor macroblocking glitches, which honestly coudl have been Roku or Netflix, so far I am impressed. Netflix via Hotspot in HD is actually better than the Netflix App for the Charge, I get constant stuttering watching Netflix on the Charge.

Thanks for this - I called them too and had it added on without problem. In fact, the rep was very nice through it all. It helps a lot to have the feature code above for them to find it if they have trouble. They assured me that nothing gets changed to my grandfathered plan but she did say that she wasn't sure if the hot spot was eligible for the corporate discount. I'm hoping it is. I thought any feature $30 or more was subject to the discount. Anyway, happy thus far.

Called today and got it. The VZ reps have a hard time finding it, but tell them to look up feature code 76153 and they will pull up the unlimited hot spot option. Works great. I found the code posted on another forum.

Apparently this code only works if you already have unlimited data. I do not have unlimited and the rep tried the number, but no luck.

I also tried to add mobile hot spot on my phone, but i got the popup explaining to call a 800 number.

looks like i am stuck on 2GB plan.

If you had the unlimited plan on your phone before July, (I think) you can get, (grand Father in) unlimited data for the Hot Spot for $30.00. I pay 40 for the voice and 30 for the unlimited data on the phone and 30 for unlimited data for the Hot Spot. I just got this about 2 weeks ago. Some at the stores don't know about this. I confirmed this twice just in case. It works pretty good. Sometimes I have to work with it, but where I could only get about 500kbs on 3g I have downloaded up to 7to 22megs, (speed test) and 1.3 on real time downloads.

i have a thunderbolt. i had it since it came out. when the free hotspot ran out, i waited a month and finally got the hotspot feature turned on. i am getting charged 30 bucks extra, but i want to make sure it's unlimited, cus many people at different verizon stores are telling me, that maybe it's a glitch in the system, and that when they finally fix it, we might get charged for going over the 2 gb limit. which sucks cus i use my hotspot for every thing in my house. (online gaming, netflix, laptop, mid's...) in the month of september i used over 33 gigs of data. hope it is unlimited. and my fone bill is still the same.
