Hey guys new here first post.

I have a nexus S well 2 of them now. Any ways I was not paying attention and i slammed the tail gate to my truck closed and my nexus got crunched had the screen is totaled but the buttons on the bottem still light up.

Now I have a lot of things on my phone that I would enjoy being able to get back. However i am not sure if this is possible.
When i try to Import I cant as I plug it into my computer and it says Devise is ready to be used but if i remmber correct there is a button on the screen that i have to press to get it to start importing.

Is there anything i can do to get my files back?

If your phone had USB Debugging enabled, you should be able to grab the files using ADB from the Android SDK.

You'd connect your device to your computer via USB, open up a command prompt window and "cd" your way into your Android SDK/Tools directory.

Then you'll want to issue the following command:

adb pull /sdcard /[some directory on your computer]

That'll copy everything from the sdcard partition.

Another potential option would be to go to the Android Marketplace on your computer (https://market.android.com/) and find either an anti-theft app or backup app that lets you do remote backups. You can install apps to your phone from the browser. The only difficulty will be finding an app that can backup your data without first having to be configured on the phone itself...the odds of that are pretty low.
