touch to focus is an option on our stock froyo camera app. i found it the other day.

I'm not sure if Tickerguy fixed this for good over on the CM7 ROM, but it's hard to grab the real error.

EDIT:

Here are the things coming the next build:

1) Ambient light sensors are mostly fixed. They register and now do something, but the values may need tweaking.
2) I'm using a new MIUI Camera app (still the stock one), but it takes correct FFC snapshots. I've also moved away from using the Cherry libs and I'm now using TG's camera libs. This fixes FFC orientation, when the phone is held upright, during video calls, but now breaks the orientation during landscape mode (only in FFC). This, I believe is a step in the right direction.
3) WIFI "fix"
4) Smartassv2 governor in the kernel

Happy MIUI-ing everyone.

Yeah, I'll just stay off the wifi for now. It's nice to have but my 3g is fast enough that im ok with it. I can't wait for the other stuff though!

Man I went to CM7 cuz I'm missing mms left n right but I miss this rom. It craps on CM7. we need to find a fix for this mms issue

This is what I entered in go sms when cm7 didn't have it all working right. I haven't tested it yet in miui but this is the virgin mobile info.

i will give this a try then post back. im gonna mess around with the
stock messaging app as well. i really want the defalt messaging program
as the themes are bad ass and its cool to have it match.

on a side note... i flashed back to a 2.2 rom then went back to
miui in less than 5minutes hahahaha... im addicted to it lol.

In GO SMS press the Menu key.
Select Settings->MMS settings->APN Configuration

Put a checkmark next to Fill APN Configuration Manually

Fill in the following:
MMSC: http://vmobl.com:8088/mms?type=null
***If there is an error remove type=null
MMS Proxy:205.239.233.136

MMS Port: 81

Here are the FULL APN settings which aren’t needed for GO SMS to work:

@hardcore iron - That is the info I was going off of when i needed it in cm7. It is the correct apn info for virgin mobile. If that doesn't fix it in miui then there is more needed than just the apn.

@everyone - you are testing this with 3g on correct?

From what I've been able to read the MMS receive issue is not exclusive to MIUI, but rather appears to be a Virgin Mobile specific problem. The Optimus V had this exact issue which was solved in the aospcmod.

Apparently VM hardcodes some of the MMS APN data in a nonstandard format. This issue also appears on other VM phones which have been flashed to Sprint.

I'm still having Wifi issues with all of these Miui updates you guys ave been posting ): I've tried using Spare Parts and Wifi Fixer.. Is there anything else I can try to fix it? With the updated ones I don't get the lock up but it still disconnects from the WiFi.

for some reason when my phone goes to sleep the signal breaks and I get a no signal on my Triumph, it does it every couple of hours. I have to restart airplane mode to get a signal. has anyone else have that problem

YES DUDE! finally someone else is having the same prob. It was cutting out after 7 to 8hrs but today it was doing it almost every hour. Its really pissing me off and I can't get any help on this thread or any kind of explanation.
I think its primarily happening when the phone has to search for a signal it just craps out and says ef it! U get no service!

I realize that the Wifi hotspot is not going to be enabled in this rom, but do we have the ability to add the MSS clamping fix (alternate kernel possibly)? I like to either bluetooth or wifi tether to my tablet, but haven't got it working through the usual routes.

Anybody else got it working for them, or is this something that needs to be enabled on a deeper level?

yea i noticed it last night but I'm gonna go back to CM7 until hopefully there is an solution. I love the rom but if I can't keep a signal I can't use it.

this is a known issue with 2.3 based roms... there is no fix yet.

One maybe good note, I installed the MIUI rom with the wifi fix added in. The first time it locked up and I did a battery pull. I then set wifi to never sleep and I haven't had a lock up since. "Since" being since last night around 12. All day today the phone would sleep but no lock ups. So for my case at least I think this problem is fixed. Other wise I really like MIUI. The way it is set up "just works" and Thanks to minus's great step by step vids I didn't fear leaving stock. I'll never go back!
